Wii Troubleshooting

Hi Guys, Im new here and just purchased a wii off my friend who was selling...

absolutely loving it however, an issue has arised...

When playing wii sports with my brother, the game froze, so i switched off the wii - switched it back on, the power light went green as normal however my tv wont receive a signal from the wii.. any ideas?
 
Maybe one of the jacks got pulled out?
Or perhaps you have a short in your cables?

I suggest calling nintendo support line, they'll help you with your problem and if you DO have a short in your cables they will replace them free of charge :thumbsup:

It was working fine, then it just stopped...

Im outside of the US, in ireland as a matter of fact... the jacks are all in 100%...
 
Also, when i switch the wii on, the green power light comes on and it will take the cds in no prob, but when trying to switch a controller on also, the 4 blue lights flash for a few seconds then they all just go out... ???
 
Yup the TV works fine, how would the cables short out? And surely thats a big coincidence that the console froze and the cable went at the same time...

Also, ive connected the audio from the lead into my home cinema system and there is no audio coming from it either so im thinking something has shorted from within the wii?
 
Yes it was well taken care off...

I cant get the controllers to link up with the console either... when i hit a button on the controllers the blue lights flash for a few seconds then they go out... but the green power light is on the console (still cant see anything on screen tho)
 
Have you phoned the support line yet?

Regarding controllers.. Try holding down the red sync button in the console for 15 seconds (thus erasing all synced remote) and then try to resync remotes

and to resync you must press the remote sync button (behind the batteries cover) and the console sync button together

Cheers ill try that 2moro, im also gonna nip over to my local store and purchase a new TV lead just incase thats a problem, if not ill bring it back and get a refund lol.
