Connection Help

if you get to the connection test and it works fine, and then your system automatically updates and then it stops after a few minutes and has an error then it's just busy. I eventually got on.:)

I can connect to the internet just fine in the connection test, but then i try to procede to the terms & agreements for WiiConnect24, I get error code 220602, "unable to connect to internet", which i havent seen mentioned yet...
I have no clue why this happens, can someone help please! Thx :mad2:

About my Westell router, my Wii finds the acess point but the connection I want to use doesn't show up. It's just a black screen. I tried many times, I even did a manual setup, but it just won't find the connection. Please help, anyone.

Ok, forget that last post, the only thing I'm having trouble with now is the connection test. I keep getting error code 51330. I'll check back at other posts to see if I find something, so thanks.

Wii Wife Woes

Okay, here is the deal. I have a Motorola SURFboard SB5100 USB Cable Modem. I am running Windows XP home edition. My modem is connected to my computer via USB. My WiFi Max is connected via USB. My WiFi Max for my Wii was installed successfully and my signal strength is excellent. My WiFi Max is plugged into the desktop stand on top of my TV, which is also next to my Wii. When I go to test the connection my Wii displays the error message "Error Code: 52030 Unable to connect to the internet. Please see the Wii Operations Manual or visit support.nintendo.com for assistance." The Wireless LAN Configuration is set to "Mode: Access Point," I'm on "Channel 11," "Authentication is Open System," and the WEP is disabled. The bridge adapter is set to "Motorola SURFboard SB5100 USB Cable Modem." Is that enough information? What am I doing wrong?

Blue, I think i know what the problem is(i used to get it)
Under "Console Information" on the Wii, get your MAC address. Then, somewhere under something like Wireless settings on your router, enter that address in the filter. There is probably a filter somewhere on the router that is blocking the MAC address of the Wii...
Hope that vague description helps...:wtf:

I don't have a router. Just a cable modem and the WiFi Max for Nintendo Wii. Do I need something else? The cable modem looks like this: http://support.cox.com/sdccommon/as...sprt_cid=173a1830-a4bc-40b7-a7ff-4b16278c9316

The back looks just like that. Though, I think you're on the right track. I think it has something to do with my MAC address or my IP address.

Also, I decided to see what IP address and Subnet Mask I was operating on on my Wii. So, instead of saying optain IP address automatically, I said "No" and then "Advanced" and I noticed that both my IP Address and Subnet Mask are all zero's as in "000.000.000.000" for both. What does that mean?

UPDATE: I should also tell you that when I test my connection on my Wii, in the ZDWlan window where it says "Connect Station List" and "Station Mac Address" when I test the connection it gives me the Mac Address on my Wii. But it only appears when I am testing the connection, it disappears as soon as the test is done. It doesn't even stay there when the Wii is on.

UPDATE 2: I went to my Wireless connection in my network connections and right-clicked, properties, internet protocol, properties, alternate configuration and changed my IP address and Subnet mask to 192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0 respectively. I then tested the connection and got error message 52130. After some research I discovered that this is a DNS issue. So, I changed the DNS to manual on the Wii and entered my DNS from my computer which I got by clicking the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer. Click "Run." Type "cmd" into the box and press Enter. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press Enter. I tested my connection again and went back to error message "52130." So I think I resolved one issue but I'm basically back to square one.

UPDATE 3: In the ongoing saga that is getting my Wii on the internet, I finally had a monumental breakthrough only to have it yanked away from me like a sucker from a child. I did get my Wii on the internet and everything was working really great. Here's how: I noticed that in my toolbar on the left side of my desktop by my clock were two little screens. One was blinking, one was not. Now, the screens said that I had an excellent signal and since it was the first screen closet to the front I assumed that the Wii was communicating with the Wi-Fi just fine. It was the Wi-Fi with internet that was the problem. So, it had to be on my computer and not on the Wii, which I was attempting to manual manipulate the IP and DNS settings on the Wii. Instead, I focused on my computer. I went to Start>Control Panel>Network and Internet Connections>Network Connections and right-clicked on the Wi-Fi connection and selected properties. I selected the internet protocol and clicked on properties. I then selected the alternate configuration tab and entered my computers IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, preferred DNS and Alternate DNS. I got these numbers by going to Start>Run> typed in CMD and entered IPCONFIG/ALL in the black screen. This gives all the values you need in the form of 000.000.000.000. I did this and tested the connection again on my Wii but still nothing. I then had an epiphany and set the IP and DNS to "Yes" in order to automatically detect settings and BINGO! I was on! It was so cool. I got weather, and Google and I was surfing the web on my Wii and then I tried to get on the internet on my computer and I really screwed that up. Long story short, I had to completely remove everything that involved the Wii Wi-Fi max from computer and unplug the dongle and reset my modem and computer in order to get back on the internet. But this isn't over. I'm going to find a way to have both. Not even disabling the Wi-Fi connection allowed my computer to get on the internet. I tried every way to have both but in the end I needed internet on my computer more than my Wii. I hope this little adventure helps somebody or maybe somebody haves a suggestion for my particular situation on how to have both. I'll keep everyone in touch should I find a way to have both without any problems. Though, I think I'm going to take a little break before I kill something.
