That's why we discuss. There's so many negative threads about it because its not that great of a system. We are discussing what Sony did to mess it up and what they could have done better. PS3s are in stock just about everywhere by the way.

wow your retarded, its more about the fact people have to create multiple threads which is annoying, LIKE STATED

its features do make it a great system, just not everyone can enjoy it cause they dont have the money, just is having a shitty get-up time, so get over it and stop crying about the same things when you dont even own the system

Thats great if you enoy playing games on a small monitor, or have to pay big bucks for a decent size screen. Then theres the lack of good games. Ps3 has free online as well.

For the price of a gaming pc that will be outdated in a year, I can have a ps3 that will be around for the next 5-7 years at a minumum. The only thing I might need to upgrade is the hard drive.

Then hook up your Computer to your TV not all that hard.

The 360 is on par with the PS3, AND it actually has some good games and for $400 you get the top of the line model.

I bought the thing yesterday, even as much as I've hated on it.

I had an SCPH-0001 PS2 (yes, you're all familiar with the problems with it I'm sure) that I got my $100 store credit from EBGames for. I can't believe I did it.

A friend of mine and I talked trash about it this entire time. I told him, "I'll get it if you get it." He said, "Don't do this to me!!!" (He had Best Buy gift cards). He actually bought it. I've always kind of wanted it deep down inside.

So, I quickly gathered my PS2, two controllers, and 8MB Sony Memory Card and headed to EBGames to handle the situation. I also turned in my aftermarket memory cards and my wireless controller, and component cable.

When all was said and done, I got about $150 out of my PS2 stuff, after "boosting" the trade in value. So, PS3 came down to $450. The PS3 plays PS2 and PS1 games MUCH better than my PS2 did (aside from some aliasing issues). My PS2 was SLOW! It took about 45 seconds to initialize a game -- that is to say, to have the disc "show up" in the system browser.

My take on it? I can now play HD-DVD and BluRay, and Resistance: Fall of Man is great. Soon, I will be playing Genji and hitting giant enemy crabs for MASSIVE DAMAGE!!!

It's cool.

Both HDMI ports are now taken on my TV.

To be fair, if the PS3 was the same price or slightly higher then the Wii in price, then without a doubt, the majority in this thread wouldn't have so much for hate for the PS3 ('cept if they just generally hate Sony for whatever reason) and almost the same amount would probably own one.

Gotta point with that one, and they'd probably lose money on every console they sold... thus why they need the higher price I suppose.
