What a great comeback. It gets hard making up all the bs doesnt it? I wont mess with you though. You sound like your ghetto with "Dreamcast Fan Fo Lyfe" in your sig :tard: I never knew a network engineer could be ghetto.

The only reason PC's become outdated is because the technology begins expanding, becoming better, and is ACTUALLY USED TO THE FULLEST. And Sony saying Blu-Ray won't be used 100%...well...it's kind of obvious. Use 50-60%...or 100%....

Well. PC's give much better bang for the buck. For the price of a PS3, I can buy an awesome gaming PC from cyberpowerpc, or from TigerDirect, which will outclass anything the PS3 can put out. Or the 360 and the Wii.

The good thing about the PC games is the free online play, unless you play WoW. And you don't have to make sure everything's in the right position for you to be able to connect to the internet. And your mouse or game pad is reliable ;)

Oh, and, it's easier to fix a PC. And the warranty doesn't disappear for popping it open.

Thats great if you enoy playing games on a small monitor, or have to pay big bucks for a decent size screen. Then theres the lack of good games. Ps3 has free online as well.

For the price of a gaming pc that will be outdated in a year, I can have a ps3 that will be around for the next 5-7 years at a minumum. The only thing I might need to upgrade is the hard drive.

Just because it will still play the games doesn't mean it isn't outdated. It's the same with computers. I built my current machine in 2003 and it still plays games like BF2 fine.

I bet my ps3 will play every single ps3 game that comes out just fine. No need to run to the computer store to start upgrading, because that new game you want made your computer outdated.

Lets see your computer play crysis :ee5k: My ps3 will play every game just fine.

Its nice if you want better graphics for crappy games.

I have a 46" hdtv. I would rather enjoy sitting on my couch than any computer chair and staring at a computer screen 12" from my face. Plus my tv is alot cheaper than a decent size lcd for a computer.

When i go into best buy I go through the computer game section and see nothing that interests me. If i did find a good one, i better check to make sure my computer will actually play it properly. If not I will have to shell out some $$$ to upgrade it.

The funny part is that they are still making games for the ps2. Its been out for about 7 years or so and all games made for it will play just fine on it. Lets see a computer thats 7 years old play any new games. Leave gaming to the consoles.

My 46" HDTV has a VGA/DVI in hence it can be used as a computer monitor. It costed $1200. Yet doubles as a monitor. So that point of yours is now moot.

Another interesting opinion. However my 5 year old PC plays games just fine, modern at that. It's just more fun however for me to play on something I actually built though and thats my opinion. I can agree with the plug and play for consoles somewhat. It is nice to be able to just sit down on the couch and pop in a game and play. However I have 5 PCs. 4 of them more than powerful enough to play the latest games. One of them is a Media Storage/Center for my home entertainment. It is connected to my 46" HDTV and if I wanted to play games on it I would.

The best aspect a PC has over a console is by far the superior controls for rpg and fps games however. For me thats the deal maker. I also have this paranoia and habit of not playing movies in my consoles using the optical drive. I've had a PS2 for at least 6 years now and have yet to play a movie in it. My reason for doing so is wear and tear to the drive. I've seen many PS2 consoles and xbox as well have their optical drives die quickly, due to gameplay and movies of course. I prefer to just play my games on my consoles though as I don't want to take that risk. Imagine how much a lense replacement for a PS3 might cost in the future. It costs a small fortune to replace a 360 drive right now. I've never had a Nintendo console fail due to over usage either. I've seen 5 PS2 lasers die. 2 Slimlines after 3 months of normal usage. I fixed those for $30 a piece though.

That is another reason I can knock sony for their poor choice to enforce blue-ray into their latest entry. Anyhow what you have provided isnt any proof at all its just a guess likely altered in their favor. Try getting that some information from a reputable source.

You're not getting my point. Just be cause a computer is behind on the technology, it doesn't mean it won't play the games. You may call a PC outdated, but as long as it turns on, runs a game, powers the monitor up, then it's perfectly functional. What's wrong with playing on a "small" monitor? Most people can't afford to pay more for the TV than they do for their console, same with the PC and the monitor.

I guess those part by parts wont add up to $500 ever? Why buy a computer when you have to keep upgrading it, when you can buy a new console every 5-7 years?

It takes a long time to add up to $500 if you sell your old parts. Either way a computer does more than just play movies and games so any money spent is really worth it to people like me that like to have the latest tech and gadgets. The PC can do pretty much anything, the consoles are completely limited so really a price comparison based on what a console can do compared to a PC, the PC wins by a huge margin as it can do so much more.

I agree with everything except free online play. It's common knowledge that PS3 online play is or will be free.

Also first paragraph totally true dont know how it crossed my mind. The technology in the PS2 is outdated and has been since it launched. The PS3 technology is outdated already lol. Still plays its games though. Same with an older PC.

its enjoy :p

Anyways yes there is a lack of good games for the PS3, whereas the PC has many. Not to mention the fact that without a PC you wouldn't have a PS3 and you sure as hell wouldn't be playing any games :)

True dat. And might I also add that a $400 computer could spank a PS3. On a different forum some guy posted that the arcitecture of the cell processor would actually perform extremely slow if placed in a computer. It would melt (I DON'T mean that literally) under the pressure that computer software demands. It works fine in a console, but once you start multitasking, it just doesn't have the power.

360's graphics was its hook
wii's motion sensing was its hook...

ps3 takes graphics and throws them with bluray and shitty motion sensing.
it looks like a foreman grill on steiroids. the one at the nearby EB froze while i was playing it.

Ps3 is not bad, though for the price is a lot not to mention an extra game or even an extra controller for a friend. Ps3 didnt have a start as good as ps2 first came out. The arrvival of ps2 set stores completly sold out for a few months. Not to mention there awesome list of games that are just not appering on the the ps3. Resistance is a great hit but most of the games are similar to 360 genre such as fight round,etc..

Yeah that's a good idea. Plop down $400-$500 on a console that WILL break within those 5-7 years. Or you could easily just replace a $200 videocard every 5 years. You just don't get it do you. As far as videogames go. PC will always be on top. Universal compatiblity. Hmm... You can play PS1, PS2, XBox, Dreamcast, SNES, N64, Genseis, Atari2600, NES, Do I need to go on? And I have a game called Albion that came out in 1995 for DOS. Guess what? IT STILL PLAYS. so shut it!

Hey we don't know for sure that it's gonna break, Sony's track record just indicates that there is a good possibility of it happening. If it does it will probably be uber expensive to replace a Blu-Ray drive in a PS3. Xbox360 drives still go for a good price for replacements, almost to the point where one may as well spend the extra money on a new refurbished system just so they know their hardware is new again. The PS2 slim drive assembly replacements costed me $30 each shipped and literally took me only 15 minutes to install. I then sold the PS2's I obtained for free or for a very low amount [say $20-40] for $100 a piece. Made about $900 just fixing PS2s on the side for fun.
