As per usual, I've been brainless 'n forgot 'bout my challenge. It's been more than three months since I started it... I feel equally dumb as the Rhyhorn I'm training. HERPADERP

Challenge Update

Surfed East of New Bark Town 'n entered Kanto in a heart beat. After makin' my way through Tohjo Falls, I battled a bunch of weak trainers, Stomping them into the dust very literally. ... Well, until a Nidorina just had to activate Poison Point anyways. ._. Luckily, I didn't forget 'bout the house half way through Route 26 and made my way there to be healed. I managed to accidentally battle every single avoidable trainer on the way like the imbecile I am, but Rhyhorn was still in the clear when we got there either way.

Back on the road, moar weak trainers held me up on my way to Victory Road. Upon entering said cave, I immediately encountered an Onix. Not the easiest catch oddly enough, took 5 Ultra Balls. As always, at the end of the cave that redheaded jerk forced me into a battle. Laughably, it was the easiest rival battle yet.

All of his Pokes were OHKO'd and outsped (seeing a Rhyhorn outspeed a Sneasel mind ****ed me  ). Into the league to heal 'n save. Next time I turn on the DS, the E4 are goin' down.

Rhyhorn is currently level 78.

I should do a solo run sometime. It sounds fun. I've always been interested in a Madkip run, but I also kind of want to do one with Eevee.

Finished silph Co., tanned rival Sho Kappa and Giovanna wasn't that hard either. Everything died in a single Slash!

Instantly headed for the 6th gym, skipped all the trainers and headed for the gym leader as Sandslash has bollocks for Special defence, wasn't much of an issue when everything died in a single Slash anyway. 6th badge Get-tau!

CK(Sandslash) is now level 66.

Edit: Went through the old mansion on Cinnabar island to get the key to the gym. Got some neat items there too. Headed straight for the gym after going TM hunting for Fly and Strength and tanned everyone there, the gym leaders Arcanine survived dig only because Sandslash had his attack power lowered by Intimidates but a Slash and a dig and its outta there! 7th gym badge Get-tau!

PS: Sandslash is level 69, I just had to save it there.

Challenge Update

After lookin' into the E4's Pokes and their movesets, I figured all would be good with Rhyhorn as he is, not even lv. 80... Well, until I discovered one of Lance's Dragonite knows Blizzard. After some speed calcs, for a guaranteed outspeed, Rhyhorn needs 111 speed. Which means I had more grinding to do... I can't wait to see if I can even outspeed Misty's Starmie. =/ Rhyhorn finally reached 110 speed at lv. 89 (grinding on lv. 40 wilds is horrible... ;______; What was I thinkin', makin' this a Rock type challenge?). I wanted this terribad grinding to finish, so I got 'em at 'round half way to a level up to be sure it hits lv. 90 by the time I reach Lance. After all that awful session of senseless Poke-murder, t'was time to battle the Elite Four.

First up was Will. I was concerned over Slowbro's STAB Water Pulse, but otherwise, I had no fears what-so-ever. Down the line, his entire team was OHKO'd with either Megahorn or Stomp. Once he sends out his final Xatu, I can hear the victory jingle already. Preemptively. ... And I didn't get to hear it as planned.

The bastard outspeeds Rhyhorn (**** YOU +SPE NATURES IN-GAME), and hits for laughable damage with Ominous Wind: and gets the stat boosts. God damnit. Thanks to said boosts, it just barely takes the Stomp 'n survives. I immediately regret not teaching it Strength for the extra BP. ;_; Next turn, now with boosted Sp.A, Xatu hits Rhyhorn down to half health after the initial weak-ass hit. Why? ... A critical. GIOWRGNRFTNHIPENHEIN WTFHAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

After losing half Rhyhorn's HP on the EASIEST E4 member, solely to hax, my doubts are beginning to set in quite quickly. If everythin' that could go wrong did the first chance it got, what're my odds it'l happen again? ;____; I don't want my challenge to end here, after so much work (and procastination)...

Next up is Koga. I did have to be wary of Crobat, but not because it's dangerous. Because of hax. Poison from Poison Fang will do me in, and Double Team has a strange way of screwin' me over. Damn you, Nick... Stomp ruined his bugs, EQ killed off his bulky Foretress and Muk. Out comes bats, immediately sporting double team. ._. Luckily, Stomp didn't get ****ed with the 10% chance of missing and OHKO'd.

Bruno was the next challenge. Stomp ruined all his Hitmons, while EQ killed off his Onix and Machamp without a problem. This was exactly how Will was supposed to lose... =/ And it gets better, as Rhyhorn reached lv. 90 just as planned.

Last of the Elite Four was Karen, who did pose a threat thanks to her Gengar. Which knew Focus Blast... ... ... Rhyhorn's time might just be up thanks to Will's uber-hax. Regardless of my fears, I'm still just gonna win it and hope for hax of my own. Umbreon was taken down by Earthquake, as well as the Vileplume that followed. Right then, Gengar comes out lookin' all douchebaggish with that smirk, ready to own me. Out comes focus blast... AND IT MISSES! HOLYDRAGONBALLSOHMAHGAWD-- and then Rock Slide doesn't miss! Unbelievable. I got lucky, and it was enough to make up for what happened earlier. Gengar is felled, and Murkrow takes it's place. Stomp obliterates the bird, though I lament on the fact I had no fire moves to fry it kentucky style. We miss ya, Fox. >_>

Lastly, and certainly forgotten during my glee at seein' luck in my favor, was her Houndoom. Which outsped Rhyhorn (waitwut OSHI--). Dark Pulse knocked off another quarter of it's HP before Stomp put the dog in it's place. No Flinch hax thank the nine, but now I'm in the real danger zone. None the less right before the Champion.

So here we go, the Dragon Master himself. Both of our Gyarados meet face to face, though mine retreats to it's Pokeball like a coward and out comes Weedle to sacrifice itself. Rhyhorn comes in safely and pummels the derpy dragon-fish with Rock Slide. Immediately, out comes what I fear: his one of three Dragonite. But lo and behold, I outspeed and Rock Slide. Out comes D-nite number 2; the same occurs. Odds are the one with Blizzard is dead, but at this point, one missed move will leave Rhyhorn dead either way... The final Dragonite shows itself, but bites the dust just as the others. Charizard shows it's speedy face to hax me to death: how, you ask? ... Air Slash.

One Flinch later, Rhyhorn lost about a fourth of the HP it has left. This is not good. Another attempt at a Stomp (that 10% miss chance is a risk not worth it...), and another Flinch. Fuck this is coming close... Air Slash takes off another fraction of my HP, but with the blessings of Magikarp, the hax does not pull through and Stomp throws that Charizard back to it's ball. Just one more Poke...

Which happens to be Aerodactyl, who also outspeeds Rhyhorn. ;___________; The best it can do is Crunch, but at this point, Rhyhorn can't take anythin'. A miss from Rock Slide or a crit will spell it's doom. Crunch smacks Rhyhorn, leaving it with a meager seven HP. Rock Slide is fired off...
AND IT HITS!

Finally, I see the light at the end of this very long tunnel; I know there's another tunnel, stfu ; all this crazy hax hasn't left me with a dead Rhyhorn alongside dead hopes 'n dreams. But Kanto is waitin' to be explored with even moar difficult challenges (OHAI STARMIE), so I ain't at all in my comfort zone, even after this important victory.

Was a long read but congrats bro. You ****ed their **** up.

PS: Yay for G-Mod heavy.

My own challenge update: After getting the 7th badge it was straight to the Viridian city to head into the gym and trash Giovanni. Avoided as many trainers as possible as pointless trainer battles now bore me as Sandslash is now in the 70's (what a hipster). Giovanni acted the tough guy but Slash and Dig made quick work of his poke's except his Nidoqueen and Nidoking who took a few more punches then expected, in all in all though earthquake did laughably low damage to Sandslash and they were felled just as easy as his other poke's. 8th badge Get-tau!

Started heading to the League only to find out I hadn't beaten Rival Sho early on when I had the chance, his poke's we're relatively easy except Venasaur, the tank took a good amount of hits and Razor Leaf did just under 50% of Sandslash's health and dig spamming might've been a bad idea as it used Synthesize to heal up the damage I was dealing. It was close as I had to send out a Paris to tank a shot to heal up before switching out and knocking the big bugger out. Saved out side the Pokemon league, tomorrow i'm gonna take on the E4 and clear Victory road. My only worry is the first E4 member (I forgot the names due to it being a long time, don't bother me about it) as she uses Ice types which may cause issues. All in all a good run today.

Update 1
late challenge update herpaderp

Now that I'm Champion, it's time to enter Kanto. Flew on over to Olivine 'n caught a ride on the S.S. Aqua. Found that terribly irresponsible parent's kid quickly since I had no intention of fightin' trainers with Pokes half my Rhyhorn's level. Waste'a time.

After arriving in Vermillion (man do I love Vermillion's theme), I immediately cut my way into Surge's gym. After gettin' the two trap switches in only two quick tries, as well as some Earthquake spam later, I gots me the Thunder Badge. Easier than Falkner.

Made my way to Saffron, but I ignored Sabrina's gym at the moment; her Alakazam knows Energy Ball. Do not want 'till level 100. Opting to continue traveling, I made my way through a bunch of trainers on wards to Lavender to get it on the map so I can Fly to it later. Flew back to Saffron, 'n made my way to Cerulean. Moar traveling and I get wrapped up in the Power Plant crisis, but I handled it quickly since it ain't exactly difficult. Just as with Sabrina, I have no intention of takin' a STAB Water Pulse from Misty's Starmie, so I returned to Lavender to get my Radio Card.

Upon gettin' that, I flew back to Vermillion to get Copycat's Clefairy doll 'n wake up the fatass blockin' the road. Thanks to it's gargantuan HP, the Snorlax managed to barely survive a Stomp from Rhyhorn. A single Ultra ball later, and I miraculously caught it. Didn't think I'd get that lucky. One super repel and I'm through Diglett's Cave and in Pewter City. Brock was just as easy as Surge, fallin' to EQ spam. Boulder Badge get!

Grabbed that Rainbow Wing I've been wantin' and returned to Saffron to get my Magnet Train pass. Gotta go get me my Ho-Oh soon.

Rhyhorn is currently lv. 92.

Update 2
Challenge Update

Rode the Magnet Train to Goldenrod 'n flew off to Ecruteak. I could'a swore ya had to fight the sages, but I guess not... Or perhaps it's a HG exclusive event, I dunno.

With max repels aplenty, makin' my way up the Tin Tower (THAT'S WHAT IT SHOULD BE NAMED FITWHIPGRHGIPRIGRNTG) wasn't at all a problem. Upon reachin' the top, I decided to try 'n catch Ho-Oh without the Masterball for fun. Nothin' too horrible could go wrong, so long as I don't let Rhyhorn get into KO range from a critical. ... Which is what I naively thought before the battle, since I neglected to think that I might crit Ho-Oh. N00b mistake indeed.

Anywho, thus the battle began. Stomp did a good third of it's HP, while it "countered" with Safeguard. Next turn, it used Sacred Fire, but didn't get the burn. Another Stomp, another bit of HP gone. Ho-Oh then used Ancient Power which did hit Rhyhorn's (horribly) weaker defensive stat, doin' even more damage than Sacred Fire, but still a pitiful amount. Stomp got it's HP deep into the red; time to throw some balls.

First Ultra Ball, nothin'. Another Ancient Power 'n Rhyhorn's still fine on HP. Threw another ball, it wasted a turn with Safeguard. Another Ultra Ball, and another Sacred Fire; this time the burn does happen, however... Since Rhyhorn's Attack has been cut, I decided to use Megahorn to lower it's HP to a sliver as it attacks me again. Rhyhorn's startin' to hurt a bit, but now Ho-Oh is in a prime position to be caught. Two more balls and Rhyhorn is nearly in KO range for a critical Ancient Power, factoring in burn damage... One more turn and any of it's damaging moves will KO on the next. Prayin' lady luck was with me, I threw one last Ultra Ball; and wouldn't ya know it, I managed to get it! It's been awhile since I caught a legendary with a catch rate of 3 on a single digit-amount of balls. None the less with Ultra Balls, not Dusk Balls (another n00b mistake, I should'a waited for nightfall... ... ...).

With Ho-Oh in tow, I took the magnet train back to Kanto 'n flew over to Saffron. Rode my bike into Celadon and entered the gym since Erika's pokes aren't particularly threatening. Smashed all the gym trainers, as well as her, in a dominating performance. Unevolved Rock type > stupid-worthless Victreebel. /trollface @ Nick Though, Rock Slide did miss against her Jumpluff, so a combination of a leech seed and then a Giga Drain left Rhyhorn in the red at the end of the battle... Close call admittedly.

Rode down to Fuchsia 'n destroyed the gym even more convincingly than with Celadon. Though once again, things didn't go according to plan after Janine's Crobat confused Rhyhorn and it got the kill. I switched to Ho-Oh and back to Rhyhorn, givin' her Weezing a chance to Toxic my Rock type. Had to switch one time prior to her last Poke gettin' sent out to prevent the poison from offin' Rhyhorn.

Flew out to Pewter and made my way through Viridian Forest (screw the short cut, Viridian Forest's remix is epic nostalgia). Passed through Viridian only stoppin' to heal, and made my way down Route 1 towards ol' Pallet Town. Things really didn't go the way I wanted, of course... ... ...

As I said in my last challenge update, I didn't bother with Sabrina since her Alakazam knows Energy Ball. Lo and behold, some random Ace Trainer has a lv. 47 (er... 46?) Alakazam. With Energy Ball. .___. It only did half health, so I was fine, but now I was a tad paranoid. When another Ace Trainer showed up down the road, I immediately checked to see what her party was; and I'm ****in' glad I did. She had a Starmie, the sole reason why I avoided Misty. This route is a prelude of the risks to come. ;_; I headed back to the Viridian center to heal up 'n took her on. For whatever reason she used Blizzard (same power as Water Pulse after type effectiveness) and ended up missing, so I stomped the Starmie flat regardless of Rhyhorn's HP.

Arriving in Pallet, I saved. Next stop Cinnabar so I can get Blue back to his gym, as well as own Blaine.

Rhyhorn is currently lv. 94 (I'm gonna need to grind prior to Sabrina and Misty... ._.).

Post merged again by ye olde 'Karpmod.

Update 3
After surfin' down from Pallet Town, through a bunch of trainers, and arriving in Cinnabar, I remembered ya need fifteen badges to get Blue back to his gym. ... dis is gey

Not that it matters, since I traveled to the Seafoam Islands 'n took out all of Blaine's gym trainers. On to fightin' Blaine, it was a piece of cake. Magcargo was brutally destroyed with Earthquake, as was his Magmar. Rapidash did get a Bounce in, but suffered an obvious OHKO afterwards. Volcano Badge get!

After actually researchin' Misty's team, it turns out that her Starmie is the only Poke that'l outspeed Rhyhorn; I assumed otherwise. Therefore, Rhyhorn bein' lv. 98 was definitely good enough to take 'er down. Her gym trainers fell without a fight, as did her entire team. Even Lapras couldn't tank the EQ since it was too low a level. Starmie did indeed get in a Water Pulse, but managed only half of Rhyhorn's HP. Confusion would'a sealed my fate, but my luck wasn't sour and I avoided a failed challenge right before the finish line. Sabrina is still a huge issue; a bigger one, even...

Level grindin' Rhyhorn up to lv. 100 on random trainers I'd skipped, 'n saved. Sabrina's next, and is gonna be the biggest challenge for the entire Nuzlocke. Best for semi-last.

Y U SO INACTIVE THREAD?

Challenge Update

It's finally time to end this challenge; preferably, in victory. I did my final bits of research on the last two gym leaders, Sabrina and Blue. Sabrina is first obviously. My pre-battle research uncovered some very interesting news; firstly, it was a misconception that her Espeon had Energy Ball. This is REALLY good news, since Rhyhorn never would'a been able to take two Energy Balls. /grass-type innuendo?

The second bit of news is grim; Mr. Mime can outspeed Rhyhorn with a Speed+ nature, since I didn't give Rhyhorn it's own Speed-increasing nature. If my luck is sour, the challenge ends right there. But that aside, there's no point in second guessin' the fight any longer, nothin' to do but go for it.

Let the battle for the badge begin; out comes Espeon 'n Rhyhorn. I do have an ace up my sleeve for this occasion that I've been waitin' to use. In Generation 4, Gym Leader/Elite Four AI will often use a support move if you use one of your weaker, if not weakest, attacking moves. Espeon used Calm Mind since I ordered Rhyhorn to stomp it flat. Rhyhorn flattened the Psychic Eeveelution without a scratch. Checkmate.

Out comes Alakazam. Stomp won't KO if it uses Reflect, so regardless of whether or not her Mr. Mime is still OHKO'd by Earthquake after, Stomp is the poor choice of move. Alakazam hits Rhyhorn hard with Energy Ball, knockin' it down to a third of it's HP. Earthquake slams back, and knocks it out cold easily.

Mr. Mime comes to the battlefield as her anchor. Rhyhorn's got the remaining HP to take Mr. Mime's Psychic, so bar a crit, this badge is mine. But Mr. Mime didn't get that Speed+ nature I feared, and Rhyhorn outsped for a clean KO. Marsh Badge get!

With that done, I healed up 'n flew off to Cinnabar to return Blue to the Viridian Gym. After that, I made my way through the gym's "puzzle" without needin' to fight any trainers. Time for the final battle of the challenge. :D

Rhyhorn faces Exeggutor. Damage calcs show that while Exeggutor is by no means frail, the level advantage lets Earthquake demolish it (it's got 15 more Base Power than Stomp after bein' not very effective, so yeah). Without needin' to resort to inaccurate moves, Rhyhorn offs the coconut tree 'mon before it can get off a Trick Room or even worse, a Leaf Storm.

Blue sends in Gyarados; and so do I at the same time. With his Gyara's attack dropped and it's best move to hit an opposing Gyarados being Return, I switch Rhyhorn back in immediately to take a laughable 8 damage. Rock Slide proceeds to decimate the Chinese Dragon, down it goes. Two severe type disadvantages have been removed, so all is lookin' really good.

Machamp comes out next. Dynamic Punch would seriously **** Rhyhorn's **** up, but I outspeed and Earthquake it into oblivion regardless.

In all-due irony, Blue sends out his Rhydon. The level advantage is quite apparent as Rhyhorn outspeeds his superior and OHKOs with Earthquake. lawl easy

Next up is Arcanine. With Flare Blitz's chance to burn, I'd fine simply takin' the Intimidate. Arcanine isn't fast enough without a Speed-increasing nature (that, or it tried to use Roar strangely...), and ate a nasty Earthquake.

Finally, Blue's lead Pokemon as Champion back in RBY comes out last, his Pidgeot. In a "wut is dis i dont even" moment, Rhyhorn outsped Pidgeot, hits with Rock Slide, and even crits! VICTORY! This horribly difficult challenge is over. Earth Badge get!

The most difficult challenge ever conceived in my challenge thread has come to a close not only on a note of victory, but a wonderful bit of hax as well. WEWT! Never again will I do a Nuzlocke single. This **** was crazy...

Well, good job!

I gotta do one sometime with Sableye, Sharpedo, Stunfisk, or something.

Final Challenge Update

My challenge might be over, but I thought I'd give Red a shot for shits and giggles... I have virtually no chance of winning, but I'll fight to the end anyways.

Went 'n got Rock Climb from Oak and taught it to Snorlax. Flew off to the entrance of Victory Road so I could enter Route 28. With Max Repels in hand I made it through the Route, and Mt. Silver uncontested by wild Pokemon. In fact, I made it to the summit in nigh-record time since I only hit a dead end once, and that barely ate 10 seconds of my time. Face to face with the old Champion, it's time for one last battle.

Out comes his trademark Pikachu. Obviously the speedy rat outspeeds Rhyhorn 'n tries to get in an Iron Tail, but my gigantic boulder of a 'mon somehow dodges it and counters with an OHKO Earthquake. Uh, good start...

Next comes Lapras. I knew EQ wouldn't KO, so I had to go for the 90% accurate Rock Slide. Surprisingly Rhyhorn outsped 'n hammered Lapras with said STAB move, leaving it with just a sliver of health... Well, that's the end of that. ... Or so I thought! Rock Slide managed to flinch Lapras, Rhyhorn ridin' towards the impossible victory on the winds of hax. It full restores next turn, but Earthquake is a clean 2HKO, so Red's Lapras is down. Many thanks, hax. :D

Next up is Venusaur, and I'm pretty ****ed I'd think. It actually outspeeds me and smashes my poor Rock/Ground type with Giga Drain; an easy OHKO...

Dirge whited out... ... ...

That aside, I mentioned I'd begin a combined Emerald Nuzlocke at some point; I'm puttin' it off since KH:3D is gonna be in my hands very soon. Perhaps in a few months.

Good job karp. unfortunately my nephew reset my game so I'll continue my SS challenge until B/W2 come out.

Sorry for my lack of updates, I have been away most of the summer. I had gotten a little further in the challenge but then forgot about it, so I'm dropping it. Now I want to do a Scramble/Monotype/Moveset on White using a team of 6 Ground types

The majesty of Magikarp certainly can break one's concentration, I blame you not Yepi. Read the first post, then the second. Resist the allure of my spoiler this time, 'course. :p
