Took a STAB at my challenge for but a moment, so... quick challenge update.

Brutalized some trainers on my way to the Ice Path, including someone with a Rhyhorn. A pitiful level 30 Rhyhorn. What a wimp.

Rejoiced in the fact that Ice Path has awesome music, and easily traversed all the "puzzles". Nabbed Waterfall on my way through. Ended up at Blackthorn in no time at all, healed at the center, and saved. Gonna start bein' more active with my challenge again. =D

Putting my SS challenge on pause. Gonna do A White Single/Moveset/Nuzlocke challenge with Salamence as my pokemon.

Sorry mine is on pause until I deal with a self conflict, Sandslash kinda needs the break from kickin too much ass anyway.

Challenge Accepted!

I'll give ya it's moveset as well. :D

Dragon Claw/Fly/Crunch/Flamethrower (egg move, TM isn't available until post-story)

Obviously it wants STAB, so Dragon Claw and Fly are a given. Crunch is there simply for extra coverage, particularly against two members of the Elite Four. Since 'Mence doesn't have access to Earthquake, Flamethrower is the next best thing to pair alongside it's Dragon STAB (to handle Ice types in specific, which Bulldoze can't do). I thought 'bout puttin' Fire Fang into the slot, but in my personal experiences in-game, the 30 Base Power difference from Flamethrower REALLY let me down at times with other Pokes I used with the move. That 5% chance of missing has as well, time 'n again... .____.

Good luck, and I hope this moveset serves ya well bro.

Decided to stop puttin' off the level grinding, and got to level grinding... Why? Clair's damnable Kingdra, of course.

Rhyhorn absolutely has to outspeed and OHKO Kingdra with EQ in order for me to win this gym battle. There's no way Rhyhorn will be able to take a STAB Hydro Pump from any fully-evolved Poke without being double said Poke's level... And even then, he'd still take HEAVY damage. I haven't bothered with speed calculations yet, and am puttin' it off 'till I level up another 10. Oh, how boring this is...

^ Tell me about it.. Wild pokemon are low level and still manage to be higher level than grunt team members pokemon.

Did the speed calculations, and it turns out that in order to outspeed a Kingdra with a speed-increasing nature AND a 31 IV (... I ain't takin' any chances), Rhyhorn needs 95 speed. Much leveling later, Rhyhorn finally has said speed; at level 76. Ugh. Grinding in Pokemon is so damn boring. What's worse is that since it's almost-never required, I hate these rare occasions even more. Clair's 'Mons shall be the banks of which are to accept my copious deposits of rage 'n boredom. ... Next time I turn my DS on, anywho.

Also, Rhyhorn learned Megahorn over Stone Edge. Hurray for 5 more PP and 5 more accuracy! =D

Made my way to Castelia City beat the battle tower beat the plasma noobs(I miss Team Rocket) and with Flamethrower I destroyed the entire gym, went to beat Bianca and saved on Route 4.
Shelgon level 30: until tomorrow.

finally someone posted

Challenge Update

With Rhyhorn now a lv. 76 boss, I finally made my way to Blackthorn Gym and crushed all the gym trainers with ease. Clair was just as easily destroyed, even after her Gyarados Intimidated Rhyhorn. Rock Slide rocked it (hurrhurr pun) in retaliation. As predicted, Rhyhorn outsped her Kingdra and ruined it with a single Earthquake. Dragonair was no different, and was felled with all-due ease. Rising Badge get!

... Er, actually no. As per always, Clair had to be an utter ***** 'n send me off to the Dragon's Den to pass some gay test. After passing said gay test, I claimed my rightful badge. Thanks to repels, I was also able to exit the cave, deposit my Sudowoodo, and return to the Elder to claim my special Dratini. Who knows when Thunderwave might come in handy, even if it is only lv. 15.

Obtained my Masterball from Elm, but decided to avoid the trip through Tohjo Falls'n take a detour to go own the Kimono Girls in Ecruteak. Afterwards, I made my way to the Whirl Islands to go catch me a Lugia. For shits 'n giggles I decided to find my way to the legendary bird without Flash. After five minutes of bumbling 'round the darkness like a fool, I finally realized that I was in the wrong island (top right, not bottom... .___.). After wasting half my max repels, I made my way through the correct island without a problem and engaged Lugia. But at that very moment, I had rare moment of sense to second guess my impulse to catch it.

I thought, "why the hell would I catch this lv. 45 Poke when I could catch Ho-Oh at lv. 70?!". I won't need a safe switch in until I'm in Kanto anyways, and Lugia would be too low level for that, so I decided to just smash it's face in with Rock Slide instead. I didn't outspeed, but it used Extrasensory which did laughable damage prior to it gettin' KO'd. With Lugia gone, this was indeed a pointless, time wastin' detour.

Flew back to Blackthorn, healed up, 'n saved. I intend to destroy a chunk of the trainers on the mountain Route down to New Bark Town. I really want Rhyhorn to be lv. 100 by the time this challenge is over, mainly so I can OHKO every Gym Leaders' team with ease... And outspeed all them Water and Grass types, more importantly.
