Pokemon X/Y

I enjoy it thoroughly. I play with it all the time, in fact when Mr. Bodine is playing AC4 I'm usually doodling on it.

The only thing I dislike is, even though there are tons of colors, it doesn't have a lot of shades of some colors.

I don't think I like 6th Gen, it's, well, very disappointing.

Well, out of all of the new pokemon there's what 2 maybe 3 outstanding stats. The legendary's stats are awful. The story line isn't as great as it should have been and there are too many fairy types :(. I think that's all... I'll just play MH3U until some new development happens.

I also feel like the stats were (likely) generally more average than in Gen V, but who cares? Is it really that big of a deal? Competitively it makes some a little less viable than they would be, but still.

Also, in terms on uniqueness, I feel like this generation introduced more unique mons than others. Unique in terms of gameplay, I mean. I'd need to do some comparisons before conforming that, of course.

Understandable.

and there are too many fairy types :(
Um, no? It's the rarest type (along with Ghost). They added a lot of fairy types this generation because it's the generation where they introduced said type. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

^ This. Only valid complaint is the plot bein' thin as Deoxys-A's defenses... which is only semi-valid since this is Pokemon we're talkin' 'bout. I'm certainly sad the huge improvements to character depth 'n plot that we saw in BW1 weren't carried over, but it's only natural that would happen. So many other things were focused on for XY's release, such as the P.S.S. 'n the transition to 3D as a whole. Plotstuff isn't as important to Pokemon as polish is.

The legendary's stats are awful.

No. A single legendary's stats are awful... which will be alleviated in the Z version, as it'l no doubt receive a new form alongside some actual backstory.

And yet Pokes like Talonflame are OU. Stats ain't everythin', y'know.

... Says the pseudo-legendary abuser.

Speaking of which, Goodra is the most interesting pseudo legendary yet, in terms of gameplay. It has more ability to use both pure special and pure physical sets, gargantuan special bulk, ironically mostly unique typing (only other fully evolved pure Dragons are Druddigon and Haxorus), Gooey to discourage physical attacks from fast Pokemon, and Hydration to make it work well on rain teams. It's a bit more than just "attack and destroy, or set up and destroy", which is mostly the case with the other pseudo legendaries. I say "mostly" because they can all do a decent variety of things, just not to as large of an extent, imo.

Planning my "Z" (placeholder name) team. So far it's:

  • Chesnaught
  • Diggersby
  • Accelgor/Gigalith (shiny)
  • Avalugg
  • ???
  • ???

Well when steel and dark types where added to gen 2 they didn't go as over board as this...But in general you guys can kinda see where I'm comin from right? Also I still can't believe they nerfed thunderbolt / flamethrower / ice beam ect...

New fairies:

Florges, Aromatisse, Slurpluff, Sylveon, Xerneas.
That's 5 new fairies.

Old Pokes that gained fairy typing:

Whimsicott, Gardevoir, Azumarril, Wigglytuff, Clefable, Togekiss, Granbull, Mr. Mime.
That's 8 old pokes that got new typing.

In reality, fairy has only been introduced to 13 fully evolved pokes. It's pretty rare.

I still don't like the fact that they kept it the same for 3 generations and then BOOM! But talking about fairy type, anyone found any competitive use for em yet?
