I got mine today at Toys-R-Us in Baton Rouge, LA. Store opened at 10am, and I got there at 9:30. There were other people camped out. One of the employees came out and handed about 20 vouchers out to guarantee us that we would get it.
Yay!! I've only been looking for one for the past week.
I didn't get mine until April of last year, nearly 7 months after it was released. The anticipation and daily searching was horrible. I finally bought one off Ebay for $350.00. it came with 3 games and lots of nice accessories. Including Paper Mario, Excite truck and Twilight Princess (and of course Wii sports).
I got mine today, online from Toys R Us. They've had a bundle in stock on and off for several days, and I finally got tired of waiting for just the console to show up. I narrowly missed the console a couple of weeks ago at Amazon. I thought about eBay, but if I'm going to pay a bunch of extra money for a Wii, I ought to at least get some extra games for the extra cash. It was $500, but it came with six games, all of which are good titles for the kids. Now I've got to find some games for me!
Amazon had the console today for about four minutes, and I'm still looking for another one for a friend. Unfortunately, right when I got the message on my phone from wiialerts.com, my boss walked into my office. By the time I finished talking to him about work, they were gone. Darn job!
Got mine today! Went through Wii Alerts and on the first day I signed up I found one on Amazon, took about 3 days to ship it but now i've got one. Now I just need to find out how to get my wife to stop playing Super Mario 3 ...
It was $249 since it wasn't a bundle or anything, but it is new. They only had them up for about 5 mins tops. By the time i completed my order there weren't any left for sale.
Got my Wii about 4 weeks ago after a very long search. I got a very good deal in the end. Wii Console, Wii Play/with Wiimote, Mario Party 8 and an extra Nunchuck all for £239.
I've since sold Mario Party and Wii Play (game only) at a profit on eBay and used the money to get a few other games.
I have finally joined the gaming elite!! Stood in line at Toys R Us last weekend for 5 hours in a blizzard. Was the first in line and first to arrive. The Rzone manager said I was "HARDCORE" and included Super Mario Galaxy at his expense.
Side note-They had 50 consoles and opened at 10am. I got there at 5am, no one else showed up until close to 9:30. After camping at Breast Buy black friday only to be 3 people behind the last console I wasn't taking chances.
I finally got one. I got smart and started calling Best Buy Tuesday and Thursday mornings (because that's when they get them) and asking them... The second time (yesterday) they had them, so my dad bought one for me. Finally!
The wii was my first experince with the nintendo products and it is my second console. I say it has lead me to look outside the boundries of sony into a bright new world of wonders and delight I love it and it makes my life worth living.
