Official 'I got a Wii' thread

Hi everyone!!

I am British but live in Spain, my boyfriend gave me a Wii for Christmas, he was able to find one before they all ran out. I have never enjoyed a videoconsole so much! I have Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime and Guitar Hero III but haven't been able to find any extra controllers for sale anywhere, they are all sold out!

I got a wii Dec 22nd. It's awesome and I love it. My fiance surprised me. She didn't have to get it but she did. She's the best!

I got my wii on Dec 30th!

I had been searching all of November, allways getting the same response that I was an idiot for waiting till November to try to get a wii instead of mid 2007. The people at gaming stores hated me, always getting hyphie about the wii situation.

Anyways I heard on the radio that Gamestop was going to do some sort of raincheck system where if they didn't have any wii's that you could pay for it then when they got some in they would call you to pick it up.

Long story short I was about 20th on the list after purchasing my wii raincheck. I got the call from gamestop telling me that my wii was in and to come pick it up. Being out of town I had my mom go to pick it up. When she went to get it they told her that they had called me by accident and meant to call the 6th person on the list. My mom got all hyphie with them accusing them of manipulating the list, they were getting tired of her and just decided to give the wii up. Poor guy who had to switch places with me in line. Sorry if your reading this, in your face! I still would be waiting for mine to come in, wasn't guaranteed to be there untill Jan 25th.

I now have my Wii and enjoying every minute of it.

i camped out the best buy in salinas, ca when it first came out and i didnt get one, i gave up and bought a ps3, now that it is my bday i got it and i love it, it is insane, wii sports is soo cool and madden 2008 is cool too....

I just received my Wii in the mail today. I bought a used one off of eBay for $325 shipped. It included 2 Wiimotes, the HD cables, a few virtual console games, and Madden. I got it from a guy who just bought a 360 on eBay two weeks ago and says he's just not into the Wii. I won't get to look it over until I get home from work so I'm still hoping everything is OK. If you scour the new listings with Buy It Nows on eBay, you'll run occasionally run across an auction with a BuyItNow that's low. This particular auction was up for 15 minutes by them time I finished the purchase.

Personally, I'm kind of glad I got a used one (assuming it works) just because Nintendo has actually lost a sale from me by not having sufficient stock. I won't be buying a console from them later and I wouldn't have even considered a used console if not for the shortage.

Wasnt really aimin to get one but I jus happened to call gamestop and asked if they had any in stock along wit a ps3..they said they had a used wii for 230. Thats a offer I couldnt beat so I bought it and enjoyed playin it ever since. Plus came wit a few vc games. Works great

Well I got mines around early november of 07 I had been searching for it all over my city with no luck..until I went to a nearby neighbor city and they had the last one in stock at a gamestop no one really knew about and got one of the last 3 they had yuuup im just lucky like that

I officially got my Wii today! Unfortunately however, I was at the beach with my cousins playing football that my little brother and mom got it, so I wasn't able to get myself an extra Wiimote and Nunchuck... so :/

But yeah I still got a Wii ^.^

Hi, I am new here and just wanted to say hi to everybody. I think I have read every page in this thread and just went on ebay and got a WII for me and my family. Dam my arm hurts. Agian hi to everybody and once I find my friend code I will post it in hopes to meet some nice people for me and my family to game with.

I purchased mine Friday January 11, 2008. I usually walk in Eb games and ask to play there Wii but on Friday the employees ran up to me and said hey i have one if you want and the rest is history. I didn't come with a stand for the sensor bar or the Wii itself but hey who cares.
