Plugged in Wii last night (after waiting 8 hrs in NYC cold). worked great, logged into my wireless access point and updated the firmware twice. played for a few hours. Turned the device off (went to standby, orange LED). Today, it stayed in standby mode and i could not recover from it. I turned off the power by holding down the power switch and LED went red. Hitting it again, it turned green, the screen shows absolutely nothing.

I've tried different inputs and 2 other TVs - the Wii turns on, DVD drive spins up, but the screen is completely black -

does anyone else have a similiar issue? There are no error codes reported;

/chris

when i first got it a had a few problems with it freezing up so much that it needed to be unplugged, this happened twice in the first week, but since then its been fine, so i guess it wasnt a major problem

I have this screen that says wii system files are corrupted and every time a message gets posted on my message board this error screen comes on and I have to reset it.I looked in the manual and it said to go to nintendo.com so I went there and they said I had to register and I thought forget it so someone tell me how to fix it if you know how.

Wii-mote issues

I have only had my Wii for a few days, but already began having issues with the wii-motes. I searched this forum and saw some suggestions to lay the Wii horizontally - and that fixed my issue. My only concern now is that I thought the Wii was made to be able to sit vertically in the cradle - why the issues?

Can someone please tell me exactly where you are reporting your individual issues to Nintendo? Is it directly via their site? Thanks much -

Thats really odd... try turning the wii on with the wiimotes connected and then put it in the vertical stand. If they quit working, you might have a bad connection in your wii. Vertical vs. Horizontal really shouldn't affect the Bluetooth. I do know that putting it in the horizontal position does keep it cooler during gameplay though.

Wii cutting off randomly

I took my Wii to my parents' house and it has cut off randomly 3 times. It doesn't go into standby, it goes completely dark. I will unplug it and plug it in and no luck. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a power issue? Faulty Wii? Any help would be appreciated.
