What's your pokemon team?

how about a Lucario?

Nature: Adament
Item: Life Orb
Moves
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Thunderpunch
-Ice Punch

thats the Lucario i've been raising. been maxing out Atk and Spd

How come no one uses a Spc. Attack Lucario? It's Spc. Attack is higher than his attack.
it's Atk and Sp.A are actually equal. its like Storm said, his Spec movepool sucks

True, his movepool does basically suck, but his Spc. Attack is 5 more, but that doesn't make a big difference.

I was thinking the same thing. Lucario's Special movepool isn't that bad though. I've seen much worse (Vileplume, Marcargo, Typhlosion, and Ampharos for example).
So its
Aura Sphere
Dragon Pulse
Dark Pulse
Flash Cannon
Correct?

I suppose... IF it has to be a special set, then I guess that would be the one to use.. Otherwise replace Flash Cannon with Calm Mind and throw a Salac on him.

But... To make it easy, you could just replace all those moves with a banner that says "I run a Sp Atk Lucario... Someone shoot me"

*Ahem* Read above.

i'm no pro or expert but i can see a few things that can be fixed

first off, berries are kinda worthless so don't use them.

get an Adament Gyrados. moveset is fine

with 'Champ, take off Rest & Sleep Talk. try an Elemental Punch or EQ

and i wouldn't know the item rulings, but i believe the answer is no.

Nono, berries are anything but useless; situational, but in the lead metagame, brilliant. Heatran with a ground-resist berry set up SR, and may have the chance to Explode, OHKO back, or atleast survive another day. Fire resist berry-Metagross can set up screens, explode, 2HKO almost anything that threatens it with fire attacks, and SR with much ease. Otherwise, though, yes, nearly any item (offensive or defensive) surpasses a berry. Berries are only useful for a specialized late game sweeper (albeit risky, though, with Sandstream/Snow Warning everywhere), or for an anti-metagame lead.

Actually, restalk 'Champ is pretty effective; very hard to kill and all the while dishing out damage, as well as absorbing sleep, he has good uses. Ofcourse, so does Scarf/Band 'Champ, but this set works nicely too.

Item rulings are decided by players/tournament hosts. I used to play with item clause a long time ago (no item duplicates), but I ditched that. The metagame calls for reused items nowadays.

You should teach Alakazam Shadow Ball.

Nooooo, signal beam is the way to go.

No, Shadow Ball can suck it. Go with Signal Beam.

:D

Conversing

!!!!!!!!!!!

What in god's name is this?! :incazzato: Conversing off topic in this thread? Esp, for shame... you know better. =/ Please, next time, take this to private messages; or atleast, earlier than you did that time. :p

Is this a good moveset for Golem?
-Sucker Punch
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Double Edge

If you're playing in OU, avoid Golem to your death. Ever-common Grass, Water, Fighting, and especially Ground moves ruin him; the slew of powerful special attackers, often armed with Super Effective moves (Grass Knot NP Infernrape, anyone?) will kill him in a handful of turns, almost always one shot.

If you want a rock type, Tyranitar is obviously the best; and if you don't want Sandstream/generic pokes, go for something that's atleast viable like Rhyperior. Golem is crap, to be honest.

how about a Lucario?

EQ and CC sort of contradict eachother's coverage. If I were you, I'd throw on Stone Edge or E-Speed in place of it; E-speed might get a revenge kill on something weakened (with an SD, it won't OHKO things; trust me), and Stone Edge is just a great move for Lucario.

How come no one uses a Spc. Attack Lucario? It's Spc. Attack is higher than his attack.

Special Lucario is a powerful specs user, but it's generally inferior to it's physical wall breaking power; make no mistake, the special set is a viable suprise, and is no doubt, powerful.

I have a Special attack Lucario. It's SP.Atk.... not so high even though it has a good nature.

Base 115 Special Attack is high in my book. Teach it Aura Sphere,Draogn Pulse, Dark Pulse, maybe Flash Cannon or Calm Mind, and maybe maybe Psychic. If you really want to, you can replace Dark Pulse with Shadow Ball, but I wouldn't.

Psychic and Flash Cannon? Lulz.

Calm Mind is redundant on Lucario, as Storm mentions. Lucario is best used purely special with Specs, obviously leaving no room for CM.

Anywho, there's no room for Dragon Pulse in today's metagame; it's all about HP Ice. It decimates dragons, but D-pulse heavily damages them; but rarely OHKO's, leading to Lucario being OHKO'd himself.

Also, Shadow Ball's the way to go. The Sp. def drop is incredibly handy if you get some hax. Might lead a 3HKO to a 2HKO.

Also, most dont use Special Sets with Lucario bc his special movepool is completely inferior to his Physical one... To make best use of his moves and abilities, I would recommend a Physical Lucario.

WROOOOOOOONG!

His special movepool is also impressive; not as good as his physical one, but completely inferior is going a bit far, IMO.

it's Atk and Sp.A are actually equal. its like Storm said, his Spec movepool sucks

Again, WROOOOOOOONG!

Lucario's Base Atk is 110. His Sp.Atk is Base 115. If both are maxed, that's an 11 point difference, in favor of Sp. Atk, ofcourse.

... Still working on that new team...

Also, I'm here.
Unfortunately I really havn't been able to keep up with today's metagame without the ability to play online (and I havn't been to Smogon in ages.)
Is there a successful Lucario set that doesn't contain a priority move anymore?

Hi thar Fox.

Successful? I would say... no. Maybe if you ditch Vacuum Wave on the typical Specs set for something else, but the only noteworthy option I can think of off the top of my head is CC, only for the sake of killing off Blissey. Take a stab at it yourself [/failpun], if you want.

Lucario @ Specs, Modest/Timid, 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe

Aura Sphere
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power Ice/Hidden Power Rock
Vacuum Wave

The only other sets that wouldn't have priority moves aren't too successful, such as a Reversal Set, or if you've got some crazy idea, a Mixed set.

I never said I was going to use him!

And guess what? Togekiss and Mew can learn Softboiled!

Togekiss appreciates Roost more, and Mew has Roost anyways. >.> I forgot there was a tutor for Softboiled, though.

Togekiss does perfer Roost, because it rids him of his Flying type, making his only weakness fighting, which is easily conquered by Air Slash. Mew an use either one, it doesn't matter.
