Hi,

I'm new to this challenge mode thing, I've just got White 2, not even played it yet.
I'm looking for a tough challenge for my first run through.

I'm looking at doing an Scramble, Monotype, no items run. (Unevolved also if its possible)

Looking for some suggestions for a team.

//Reflection :)

Your first Challenge is t' be a 4x Combined... ya've got some guts, friend. I like that. Challenge Accepted. I'll give ya either Doduo or Swadloon (remember, you need to catch it as a Swadloon since you're not allowed to evolve it from a Sewaddle). Best of luck bro; and have fun, 'course. If ya can beat this as your first Challenge attempt, you'll definitely of earned my respect all-too quickly.

Haha if it's Monotype you need to stick with one :p

Serperior for Grass
Zangoose for Normal
Braviary for Flying

Snivy 'n Rufflet work for Unevolved, but Zangoose don't.

Hey,

Decided I'm gonna do Grass.

Just wanna make sure I have all my facts right before I begin ;)

Scramble: You guys choose a team for me, Snivy, Lileep and Swadloon in this case
Monotype: Only one type is useable, Grass
No Items: No items to be used, except HMs on slaves, pokeballs for my slaves/shinys and key items to progress the story.
Unevolved: No Pokemon can evolve at any point.

My HM slaves are unable to battle.

At what point is the challenge considered finished.

Finally, is it possible to have a team that doesn't involve me having to trade.

//Reflection :)

Yep, ya've got it bro.

Once the credits roll for the first time, the Challenge is done. That's how it is for pretty much every version, 'cept for the Johto games.

Just message Jordan (bou) askin' for a different Grass-type found in-game and he'll give it to ya. 'Til then, considerin' you've got two Pokes you'll obtain real early on, you're free to start your Challenge whenever ya like. Wouldn't recommend goin' in any further than 4 badges though.

I literally just bought a pre owned White. I'm going to do a No Item (WNI) run as soon as I strip the game of anything valuable. This may take a while due to how many legendaries the previous owner had.

Would I be allowed to use the event Meloetta in my challenge? Or is it too powerful seeing as I get it at level 50?

Ya need t' wipe the entire game clean, bro. I'm sure 99% of those legendaries are bloody hacked, shiny or not. Don't illegitimize yourself by keepin' any of 'em.

It doesn't have your OT 'n ID number, so no. Legendaries 'n event Pokemon are allowed, but only if they aren't gettin' boosted EXP.

SS-M Challenge Update

Went back t' check for that there Leaf Stone at the Pokeathlone's athlete shop; lo' and behold, it's FINALLY for sale. Exeggcute finally evolves at Lv. 30. Makin' my way down to Goldenrod, I can finally give it a nickname: "Facepalm".

Returning t' Olivine, I surfed across t' Cianwood t' take Chuck's gym by Storm and force 'em to relinquish a Storm Badge. I figured Tlaloc would have a mighty easy time with his unbreakable defenses 'n STAB Extrasensory, but of course, nothin' goes as planned... Chuck's Primeape opens with the oh-so-annoyin' Double Team. Extrasensory misses. Great start.

Another Double Team. Another Miss! Joy. ._. This time, it decides t' smack me with Focus Pawnch; what a ****in' surprise, I missed again. Tlaloc is hit surprisingly hard, knocking it near to half HP. I'm gettin' a tad worried now. Primeape returns t' Double Team spam, whereas Tlaloc keeps ****in' missing. Where's STAB Aerial Ace when ya need it? ;_;

Three ****in' Double Teams later, Tlaloc finally lands a damn hit. This is a ****in' flash back to a crushing defeat I had in Platinum's Battle Tower all those years ago... I was on win 90-somethin' and a Double Team nub dodged every single attack I threw at 'em. Garchomp missed a Fire Fang from the start; just a ****in' 5% chance; and everythin' went down hill from there. It would've been an easy win had I not missed that Fire Fang even once, but no. I lost Garchomp and my other Poke t' bullshit evasion tactics... My Metagross managed t' get the foe down to one last Poke, but was at low HP. Had Garchomp not been unlucky, it would've been a guaranteed win. One Outrage and that Gardevoir would've been toasty, but nope. Oh, that loss still hurts me to this day...

... Reminiscing aside, Chuck then sent out his dreaded Hypnosis-spamming Poliwrath. Dirge was ready t' take any move it'd throw at 'em. Focus Punch wouldn't do much, whereas Yawn would put 'em in a corner. For whatever reason Chuck orders his Poke t' Surf, allowing Dirge t' Yawn 'em. Next turn he counters with Hypnosis; oh look, more bullshit luck. Rather than waste a turn on an Awakening, I switched to Tlaloc and had it smash the Poliwrath with Extrasensory... or that was the plan, but Poliwrath woke up 'n used Hypnosis.

...

Except it missed. :D That's game. Storm Badge get! With a free Fly, I traveled back t' Olivine to Challenge Jasmine. I sent out Dirge against her leading Magnemite, scoffing at the thought of a STAB Thundershock doin' much damage. I immediately regretted the decision, as unlike in GSC, her Magnemite know Thunderbolt. ._.; Dirge took the hit like a boss thanks to his high Sp.D, countering with Surf. 'Course, my bad luck is consistent, the Magnemite hangin' on with just a sliver. I'm forced t' switch to Facepalm, who immediately gets bashed with Thunder. And paralyzed. Then fully paralyzed the next turn. -_-; I've been ****in' countin', 'n literally every time I get paralyzed, I'm fully paralyzed on the next ****in' turn. EVERY BLOODY TIME! I sure as **** don't deserve t' get ****ed over via luck since it nearly happened at every seemingly impossible during my last SS Challenge, but no... My luck is consistently bad indeed. =/

Speakin' of, her Magnemite lands Supersonic next turn. I've also been countin', and the incredibly inaccurate Supersonic hasn't missed my team once. T'is been used at least 10 ****in' times. whythe****isthishappening2mearceuswhy

Confusion ironically managed t' KO the Magnemite despite Facepalm's confusion, so she sends in her next Steel/Electric type. Deciding to just use a bloody Full Heal, Facepalm is free of status for a whole turn since her bloody Magnemite decides t' use Thunderwave even though I was already paralyzed at the start of the turn... Cheatin' AI is ****in' cheatin'. ._. I decide to just go for Solarbeam, sick of this bullshit, BUT NOPE! Supersonic hits again. Facepalm does attack itself this time, leavin' me thoroughly disgruntled at this point. First Double Team, now Parafusion? Utter bullshit. Another Full Heal bites the dust.

THIS TIME, I use Sleep Powder, THEN Solarbeam, as Facepalm just barely outspeeds the Magnemite. It doesn't wake up in time, allowin' Facepalm t' fire it's laser and obliterate the stupid thing. Good riddance. Finally, the actual threat of Jasmine's team appears: a Lv. 35 Steelix. I decide to go for a Sleep Powder and Leech Seed combo just in case Solarbeam wouldn't KO. There's no way Tlaloc could lose a stall war against Steelix; I've got more items, after all; so when the Leech Seed hit, victory was assured.

Steelix does unfortunately wake up the turn Facepalm begins a-chargin' it's laser, smackin' it hard with a wood-crushing Iron Tail. Amazingly, thanks t' that Defense-increasing Bold nature, Facepalm barely takes the hit and counters back with it's own potent move. T' my surprise Steelix was actually felled by the blast, endin' the battle with a bang. Mineral Badge get!

... With that said, I like that HGSS makes the Johto gyms noticeably difficult. Falkner had his Roost-abusing Pidgeotto, Bugsy always had his Scyther; which now has the incredibly powerful U-turn for good STAB, Whitney's always had Miltank, Morty's Gengar now has Special STAB making it a ****in' monster, Chuck abuses the more accurate (and powerful) Focus Punch instead'a Dynamic Punch, and Jasmine is a parafusion-abusing *****. I forget whether or not Pryce is particularly difficult, but I know for a fact Clair's Kingdra is deadlier than it used t' be. Point bein', any difficulty in a Pokemon game is a welcome thing. Anyways, I saved after obtainin' my sixth badge. The team is as follows.

Tlaloc (Bronzong), Lv. 35 @ Quick Claw
Naughty
Levitate

Payback
Extrasensory
Gyro Ball

Rain Dance

Dirge (Slowking), Lv. 29 @ Shell Bell
Bold
Oblivious

Confusion
Yawn
Surf
Shadow Ball

Facepalm (Exeggutor), Lv. 31 @ Miracle Seed
Sassy

SolarBeam
Sleep Powder
Confusion
Leech Seed

That's a good point. I deleted the entire file and started the No Item challenge.
I should have an update up sometime soon. For this challenge and my B2 Scramble.

Good on ya.

Item-based evolutions are 100% allowed in any No Item Challenge.

B2S UPDATE
I flew to Lentimas Town where I got the TM Shadow Ball. I taught it to Espeon and Frillish. I then assisted Bianca in getting through Reversal Mountain in return for her healing my pokemon after every battle. Once I got through the mountain, I battled Hugh and swept his whole team with my Espeon. As soon as the battle was over, I rode to Lacunosa Town, battling lots of the trainers on the way. Once at Lentimas, I was told the legend of Zekrom, which I never pay attention to. As soon as I was free to leave the house, I went straight to the pokecentre and bought Thunder, which I taught to Manectric. I then went back to the route I passd through earlier and finished battling all the trainers I skipped. That wasn't even nearly enough training to get my pokes to level 50 so I went Audino hunting until everyone was level 50.
That's where I stopped playing.

WNI UPDATE
I chose my starter (Tepig) and proceeded to beat the crap out of Bianca and Cheren, gaining a level in the process. I then went to see Professor Juniper and nicknamed my Tepig Blaze. I then did all the starting crap that no-one really cares about and caught another team member. A Lillipup that I named Benji, which, coincidentally, is also my dog's name.
When I got to Accumula Town, I learned about the pokecentre from Juniper. When I left the pokecentre, I saw a group of people and decided to have a look at what they were gathering together for. I saw a man called Ghetsis talking about his plans to liberate pokemon. From the audience's reaction, I could see they didn't agree with what Ghetsis was saying. Except for one person who claims his name is N. He insisted on battling me and I beat him with Benji.
I then travelled to Striaton City to get the third member of my team (Pansage) and to battle the gym. I mainly used Pansage for the battle against Cress although I did use Blaze to help with his Lillipup.
I then travelled on to route 3 and battled and beat all the pre-schoolers there. I continued through the route when Cheren battled me. I beat him and saved the game.

Can someone please give me a nickname for my to-be Simisage?

... Terrible names are my motto though. Did ya not see that I named my Exeggutor Facepalm?

No, t'is just a plain-ol' stroke.

I wasn't the one who made this image anyways, t'was the inspiration for that nickname.
