Toon Link is the best designed Link so far.

With your reasons being ill-informed concepts of what's iconic. We've been through this before. I will not tread that path again. It scares me.

Clearly OoT Link is the most iconic Link because he looks so iconic.

Toon Link is adorable. The other Links look too similar. Honestly, if it was not outright stated by Sakurai once, I might have not even realized that Brawl Link uses the Twilight Princess design. Then again, "actual" Toon Link is aesthetically similar to Spirit Tracks Link, etc...I believe that WW, PH, ST, Minish Cap, and maybe another game are the only Zelda games with that style Link, though, so I think that argument still has merit.

Oh, and along with Ocarina of Time Link, Toon is the only link to exist in more than one game. He's also portrayed as his own character more often that the other Links. By this I mean that, in Smash Bros, "Link" doesn't even need to be the same Link. In 64 and Melee he's OoT Link, in Brawl he's TP Link, I don't even know who the SSB4 Link is (MR says it's based on the Wii U demo Link, I guess that makes sense). Whereas Toon Link is Toon Link in both games, and it is clearly established that it's not just one of the various Links with a similar design, but the same Link from WW and PH. Yay for character individuality.

I suppose having more individuality doesn't necessarily make him better, but personally I greatly appreciate having a more memorable Link who is more individualized, making him, to me, "not just another Link". Doesn't need to be a reason for other people to like him more, but it's why I (and I believe MR) like him.

I agree with Squid. Toon Link is more relatable and they made him more Iconic to help with it. For instance, instead of starting off on a quest to save the Princess and the World, Toon Link starts his adventure to save his Sister. Much more believable too. Although, Skyward Sword Link also has a more personal quest but I still feel like he is detached in some ways. Maybe because it's still kinda cliché (save the girl and such).

Also, there is a reason why Wind Waker was remade in HD. It looks amazing and Link does too.
