Does God exist?

I'm probably fairly late in the thread, seeing as how it has fifteen pages of heavy deliberation, but I'll post anyways.

I do not think that God exists at all. I find it aggravating how people keep pumping out evidence and proof of science and logic and yet people continue to cling to their religion, denying data and results that are so clearly supported and accurate. Faith should NEVER replace clear reasoning.

Clear? Clear? Are you insane? There is no CLEAR evidence.

And if everything they've said is correct, I'm a one legged parrot. You see me with a crutch and a cracker?

Neither side has clear evidence. But at that point you must use logic. Does it make sense that there is an invisible man in the sky who made all sentient life or does it make more sense that over time we evolved into the creatures we are today? Personally, I'm gonna have to go with the one that isn't invisible.

I'm going with the One that is invisible.

It's basically impossible for life to occur naturally, and as ridiculous a God may sound, it's more logical than life naturally.

Does God exist? Well, that is an interesting thought. I'm a Christian and I do believe that there is a deity, whether it be physical or metaphorical. But I also believe in science and true accounted fact. I ask myself this question and try to fuse the two together in various ways.
One way in which I prefer is that God created the universe in a statistical manner in which everything has occured, is occuring, and will occur. God may exist, but He's watching from the sideline as history goes on. My religion teacher provided an interesting statement, history=his-story.
Another way is that God created the universe out from Himself. Every atom in the universe is God in a manner of speaking.
Nobody can say that all religions are idiotic. Let's say that every religion in the world is wrong about their own deities and that no deity exists. Most religions try to inspire people to do their role in this world, others try to inspire the good inside of people. Either way, everyone has a religion. I believe that Atheism can also be looked upon as a religion because if Atheism denys any existance of an entity, then that also means that Atheists focus on their lives and science more often to fufill their role.
................wow. I'm 15 years old and I just used the mental capacity of my brain at like 1 a.m:Yawn:..............I'm goin to bed.

P.S. I could really care less.

How do you know?

To say that atheism is a religion is as absurd as to say that theism is a religion. Theism and atheism are just philosophical positions on whether or not God exists, whereas a religion is an institution based around some sort of supernatural belief, as well as a set of shared moral values (it is possible to be atheist and have a religion though, e.g. some forms of Buddhism and Jainism). The only thing all atheists have in common is not believing in God- anything after that is up to the individual.

Actually, evolution is starting to make more sense now. I mean, I've been a christian, but really... Evolution just puts it together perfectly. Honestly, i don't know anymore of what to do, should I abandon my religion that i've known for so long to something that DOES make sense? this is one i'll have to think down.

People in your situation tend to believe in Intelligent Design. This means that yes, there was evolution and all that, but it was all part of God's plan. He set it up so that we could evolve. Of course that messes with the Bible quite a bit, however it might be a preferable alternative for you as opposed to completely abandoning your religion.

I'm probably not doing myself any favours by pointing this out, but the theory of evolution sort of requires that God play no part in it, at least not directly- it is a natural process, sort of like a blind game of trial and error where the conditions are constantly changing. That isn't to say that God couldn't exist though- he could have seeded the first microbes on Earth, then let it do its thing for 4 billion years until sapient beings evolved (I don't believe that of course, I'm just suggesting the possibility).

Yeah that's my point, that he planted the first microbes with the intention of them evolving into other beings. Of course, like you, I don't actually believe that, but that's what many others believe and it's at least more plausible than saying there was NO evolution.

whoops, I was tired(still am), got caried away:crazy:. You know, to completely change the subject, Pokemon is one of the funniest things ever. I mean humans are able to capture really powerful ones which are basically gods, and use them for cockfighting. Another thing, it's also funny as hell because all the Pokemon except for the legendaries are retarded. They say their own name over and over again like they have tourette's syndrome.:tard:
Sorry about changing the subject, but I just had to say something.
