Error Code 52140 When Performing The Connection Test Using A Usb Dongle

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else had had a problem whilst performing the connection test on the Wii?

I keep getting an error code of 52140 when I run the connection test. I've phoned Nintendo about this and they seem to be as puzzled as me as the 52140 error code relates to a wireless router and not to a genuine plug in USB Nintendo wifi adapter.

I've tried disabling the internet worm protection on Norton, disabling Norton completely and also disabling window's firewall as instructed by Nintendo but I still get the same error message! Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I use talk talk for my broadband if that makes a differance?

Hey, I don't know if you still have a problem Zoobabwa, but i had similar problems as you, it updated very slowly then got same error code when tried shop channel or connect 24, but i fixed it by changing the settings of wireless router from 'b and g' to g only, old routers only use 802.11 b which isn't compatible with the wii (info on changing router settings can be found here "http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/routers/en_na/routerIndex.jsp".
hope this helps.

Well Im hopin this is the right topic but my error isnt really an error code its just an error of just the WiiShop not loading. I received my Wii yesterday, and was excited, hooked the wireless up, and was working like a charm last night (thursday nite) weather forecast and wiishop was working. Then i learned Friday morning bout the Opera browser that you DL on WiiShop for free so once i got home friday nite, been trying to load up WiiShop, and it just has the two loading screens (one says Wii and has the circle, then another says sumthing like please wait while connecting with the circlel oading sign), and just goes on. Did it 4 times and left it on for a good 20-30 minutes each, still doesnt work. I thot the internet was down, but went to options, its connected to my router, did an internet test, was successful, internet n wiconnet24 (dunno wat that has to do with this tho ) was all confirmed and even checked the forecast forecast worked perfect.

Im thinkig its just that that WiiShop is down for like a temp basis but im not sure, just wanting to make sure if anyone has any help so i know my Wii isnt messin up u kno? worked perfectly nite b4 n now its just loading.

Dj Trini I have the same problem but I havent accessed the shop channel or the internet channel for over a week now. Funy thing is my weather channel still works so I know the connection is good. Wish I could help. Just know you aren't the only one with the problem.

Help me......

ok eveything was working fine with online features but now i keep getting error codes! when i do a test it finds the router just fine connects fine but i run the test it gets a error code:52030 but a few mins later il test again it says successful support code 41312 then i try to connect to anything and get that same error code again! (52030) HELP its driving me insane it was working before :) i have a D-link router (newer one)

I just set mine up yesterday

I got mine yesterday and was getting a whole bunch of error codes, even though it found my access point. I had WEP Security setup on my router at this time. so I turned off all security on my Router and tried to connect the wii again which worked w/out any errors. When I enabled WEP security again I got error codes again, even after trying to set eveything up manually. So instead of using WEP Security on my router I changed it to WPA-AES security w/one password for everything, the wii seemed to like that security setting better b/c it was able to connect w/out a problem. hope this helps somewhat.

I've noticed a lot of people with the same problem... Its dealing with the Wi-fi usb ds thing. I think alot of people need to phone nintendo about this.
