CK, did my Blue speedrun not count as a Nuzlocke? I know I didn't specify that it would be, but I technically completed it within the rules of a Nuzlocke challenge.

^ Ground types and Pokemon with Motor Drive getting paralyzed = not amused.

Unfortunately, you need to specify whether or not you're Nuzlocke-ing prior to a challenge. Exceptions can be made very early on, but after fully completing a challenge, the type of challenge you were aiming for is locked in. Sorry bro.

The reason I'm having it like this, is because I don't want anyone to get in the habit (including myself) to claim how they qualified for another challenge to be included in their Hall of Fame entry, even though they didn't officially undertake it. For example, my Platinum Single would of qualified as a Nuzlocke (Scyther was never KO'd once), but I ain't about to change it simply because I could.

You raise a good point, and I completely understand why that is the case. In fact, I agree with my run through not counting as a Nuzlocke now.
On an unrelated note, if I were to do a Nuzlocke run through of a generation 1 game (most likely would be Yellow now) would I be able to use a Snorlax? Does it count as the first pokemon you encounter in an area? What about Lapras, as you get given that?

Alright, Challenge Update:
After receiving my Riolu, I took it out to the Musharna field to grind it a little bit. After getting it to level 13 or so, I decided it was time to take Cantus to the streets. Went out to the playground and made some preschoolers cry out to mommy, and didn't have much of a challenge. Going into the city with the normal gym, I took Cantus out to the outskirts of Pinwheel Forest to go beat some baddies. Got him to evolve at level 23, and took my new Lucario to the normal gym for the easiest battles ever. Force Palm, Force Palm. Game over.Cantus has spent a large majority of his time Force Palming other Pokemon. The bug gym was the worst thing over, due to a huge series of not very effective attacks, but I picked up the W nonetheless.

I type this as I wait in line for the Farris Wheel with some green haired guy named N. The line is pretty long, so I'll get back to you on more later.

Pokemon you receive/interact to battle with can indeed count as the first Pokemon of a given area. So yeah, both Lapras and Snorlax are viable for a Nuzlocke Single... Though, not particularly good, since you can't get 'em until very late in the challenge; especially Lapras.

Hm... Perhaps I should allow trading in Pokes for Gen 1 games, even if they're not eggs. Otherwise, we'll never see challenges with Pokes like Lapras or Pinsir. Not that many people have two RBY games, two GBs, and a trade cable though.

Ahhh the good old days, I can remember when I traded with my friend I always held the cable, hoping to feel the pokeballs. That was certainly ages ago

GOML brah!
3 GBCs, all 3 generation 1 games and a trade cable...
In fact, I'm going to do a Gen 1 playthrough of a Single/Nuzlocke with a Lapras if you allow it... I assume this Lapras has to be level 5 right?

^ If you've got the junk for it, go for it bro. Challenge Accepted!

And yeah, it's gotta be freshly hatched.
