Well, what about Gyarados?

... All jokes aside (you're killin' me, bro), if you want to take a Magikarp to a Single/Nuzlocke, be my ****in' guest lol.

Aside from that, Water is a fantastic typing for both offense and defense, it learns StoneQuake to handle electric types (including Emolga), and Intimidate is just-plain great. All sorts of greatness; except, you don't get such TMs until end game.

... And if it's no-item, Gyarados is even worse.

What about Lucario?

Lucario has good BST, great typing, and a variety-filled movepool. But in terms of BW, he's got one huge problem; Marshal. He simply does not have the bulk to take a fighting move. Sawk will destroy him because of Sturdy. His chances of getting through to end-game are pretty good (so long as you grind as much as possible, to max Riolu's happiness ASAP for evolution), but once you get there, you're probably ****ed. Fighting weakness when dealing with a BW Nuzlocke is almost suicidal. Almost. Having 3 default moves is also pretty annoying. All thanks to Marshal, Lucario is not recommended. Maybe you can figure something out, but I dunno...

And no, you can't catch something pathetic with Quick Attack specifically to get past Sawk. That's cheating.

... The more I think 'bout this Single/No Item/Nuzlocke, the more I'm realizing how ridiculously hard it is.

Well then, lemme give you a hint.

Things to avoid:

Very slow evolution
Poor moveset/moveset potential
Fighting weakness
Low BST

Get to your researchin'.

Pokémon Blue speed run completed!
6 hours 16 minutes after NUGG3T left his home in Pallet Town to collect his Squirtle, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Professor Oak, along with his level 66 Blastoise and level 30 Snorlax...
Long story short, Blastoise ran through everything apart from on point, where Snorlax used toxic and rest to squeeze through Lorelei's Slowbro, because it kept withdrawing.
If I hadn't done that, it would technically have been a solo run with Blastoise, and even more technically, a Nuzlocke run through - No white outs!

Single/No Item/Nuzlocke Challenge Update!

Slinky (Furret) has failed me 5 times. I must abandon this challenge (as you predicted CK, but I will return to this challenge with a better one!)
Fail 1: Dies against the first rival
Fail 2: Falkner gets lucky with a critical hit
Fail 3: Whitneys Miltank...
Fail 4: Whitneys Miltank...
Fail 5: Whitneys MILTANK
Goodbye Slinky...thou shalt be missed (not really)

For my Combined Single/No Item/Nuzlocke Challenge, I'm going to have to go with the Pokemon that has been my favorite since the ORIGINAL Red and Blue came out. And that would be the rather amazing, Alakazam! I'm going to do...White because WHITNEY had to ruin HeartGold for me.
