The Official Pokemon Challenge Thread - Black/White Edition

I will do another challenge on Soulsilver until I buy my black/white 1 or 2. So next I will be doing a monotype/scrambled/moveset challenge. First one to give me 2 Pokemon can choose the type (but pls no poison -.-)

Your type is... (drum roll) FLYING! That is, of course, if CK will accept your challenge (he will).

First pokemon: Pidgey (since you can catch it almost immediately)

Heat Wave

Second pokemon: Swablu (heh heh heh...)

Dragon Pulse (Evolutionary STAB)
Aerial Ace

Sunny Day

Edit: I looked up the basestats and yes... it is so useless lol. And I forgot to mention that I now have a second ds so I can trade with my Diamond version if anybody wants to get a Pokemon that requires trading. And I can get egg moves. Should have thought a bit more before posting my new challenge

Altaria really is useless? When I had it in my old saphire i seemed ok.

Anythin' but. As a Swablu it's typing, stats and movepool at very poor. But the nail in it's coffin is the fact it has an Erratic growth rate. Erratic is the worst growth rate t' have in-game, period. Usin' it in a Challenge, 'specially when breeding it from an egg or when you have a high number of team members, is excruciatingly painful in that severe grinding and item-spamming is required for the Poke in question to not be dead weight. Whereas the rest'a your team is already level 20, Swablu trails behind at lv. 12. Even if it's the main focus of your bloody trainin'.

It's evolution turns it into the worst fully evolved Dragon-type in the game. After you've spent ages wastin' time evolving the stupid hatbird (Storm... -_-) it STILL doesn't have any great moves. You have t' waste late-game TMs like Earthquake on it for it's movepool to make up for it's painfully slow leveling and lackluster stats... and let me tell ya, givin' an Altaria TMs that good is damn-well a waste.

Most other Pokes in Erratic are at least usable, some good enough t' negate their ginormous early-game disadvantage (namely a bred Zangoose, as bein' underleveled means little when you instantly get those good stats). Altaria? Not so much. It's not literally useless, but it's a very inconvenient Poke who's a huge waste'a time. And also useless 'til awhile after it evolves.

Ok then thanks for saving me from that It was a long time since I played with Altaria. I only would have cought it on lvl 45 after the Pokemon League so the slow growing factor wouldn't be that bad. But collecting all of the shards will take very long anyways -.-' So I just wait tht the movesets get fixed and another Pokemon gets added and then I am ready
