B2S UPDATE

I made my way through route 23 avoiding as many trainers as possible. I got Flamethrower and taught it to Camerupt and Manectric. When I got to the beginning of Victory Road, I didn't bother healing because I had only had a couple of battles. I charged through Victory Road battling only the 4 necessary trainers (5 if you count Hugh).
Before I attempted to beat the E4, I stocked up on lots of healing items (revives, full restores, max potions).

I beat the E4 without too much difficulty and battled Iris.
I beat her Hydreigon, Lapras and Aggron easily. Then she brought in her Focus Sash Haxorus. It Dragon Danced and swept my whole team.

I decided to do some extra training before I attempted to battle Iris because I knew her Haxorus woule be a pain in the ass

I levelled everyone up to Lv. 69 (please excuse my immaturity) and I am currently waiting outside the E4 about to enter.

Protip: the key t' trashing Iris' Haxorus is t' OHKO it. If you knock it down to it's Focus Sash in one hit, she'll use a Full Restore guaranteed next turn (if she has any left), allowin' to you hit it again. 'Course, this time it won't have a Sash t' save itself.

Though I'm sure ya already knew that...

Kind of a struggle to pull that off when Hail removes Sand Storm and my only means of surviving a special ice attack.

If she Hails on the first turn, then that's your chance t' get at least one attack boost off. If that ain't enough to one-shot her entire team, well...

Uh, if you can get 'er to bring in Cloyster somehow, Sandslash might be able t' take one Dive and get in two extra Swords Dances/X-Attacks.

I posted once 'bout it a long while ago, though I didn't have a grand ol' image like that one t' explain it with. imma steel dat

If it has full health it will always be saved by focus sash won't it (including the second time)? And I don't have anything to OHKO it with. Or I didn't at level 60. If I can prevent it from Dragon Dancing I'll win. After a Dragon Dance it out speeds and OHKOs everything. Writing this made me realise I can taunt it with someone.

No, after one use Focus Sash disappears. It's a consumable item.

... Taunt works too. I always forget it's an option since my Pokes never use it.

This is the first time I've actually used Taunt on my team.

FINAL BLACK 2 SCRAMBLE UPDATE

I did the puzzle to get TM12 (Taunt) and went back to the E4. I challenged Marshal first. I OHKOed everyone except for Sawk because of Sturdy.
Shauntal was beaten with mainly Jellicent. So was Caitlin.
I beat Grimsley with mainly Camerupt. I used Jellicent for Krookodile.

Now comes Iris.
Before I started the battle, I taught Jellicent taunt to use against the Haxorus.

Hydreigon was annoying to beat. He was either resistant or immune to most of my attacks. I beat it by spamming Swift with Espeon.
I tried to beat Aggron with a Thunder from Manectric. It hit but left it with a sliver of health (Iris used the full restore on Hydreigon). I finished it off with a Discharge.
I switched into Jellicent as she sent out Haxorus and taunted it. I went into Camerupt to attack it. Unfortunately Camerupt was KOed by EQ. I went to Manectric and used Discharge to break the Focus Sash. Somehow Manectric just survived the EQ so I Max Revived Camerupt on the next turn. I finished Haxorus off with a Ground Gem boosted EQ. As Iris sent out Lapras, I switched into Jellicent to heal Manectric. I switched into Manectric as Lapras used Thunderbolt, raising my special attack. I OHKOed it with Discharge.
I beat Druddigon with an EQ from Camerupt and switched back into Manectric for Archeops. I OHKOed it with a Discharge and became champion of Unova!!!

Actually, sometimes she tricks you.

She didn't use her Full Restore once (twice?) in my battle with her, even though I was OHKO-ing all of her Pokemon up to Haxorus.
She used the Full Restore on Lapras.

No......Focus Sash only works once.

That's why you need some Dragon/Ice type Pokemon to use against her Haxorus. Dragon Dance gives it crazy Attack power.

No, after one use Focus Sash disappears. It's a consumable item.
EDIT: Ninja'd. Sadly.

nope.avi

On very rare occasions E4/Champion AI will avoid usin' a Full Restore, both in Gen 4 and Gen 5, if they very recently used one. Otherwise, if any of their Pokes' health is low enough, they'l use a Full Restore(s) immediately.

I just thought it might be worth mentioning. It also surprised me when she didn't Full(y) Restore her Haxorus.

Diamond Palaeo-run (A rock monotype run, using only fossil pokemon!) UPDATE NO.4

Going wayward in Wayward cave
-Trade over what is hopefully an omanyte egg
-Head back to eterna forest and loiter around the haunted chateau, get some gateaux
-Back down cycling road, make my way to Wayward cave
-After wandering round aimlessly for ages, I finally accept that going into wayward cave with no escape rope, repels or many potions and no pokemon with flash is a bad idea
-Get terribly lost in wayward cave. I have battled most of the double battles before I even find Mira, and she's lost too. Great.
- Egg hatches in the cave! And its... An Omanyte! YES. I name him Wilson, and he has surf, brine, withdraw and constrict. He. Is. SO. CUTE. :3
-Wilson levels up nicely with EXP share
-OH MY GOD, finally out of the cave
-Head towards Hearthrome through Mt Coronet. That Cyrus creep shows up. I ignored him, and continued on with my baby fossils.
-Yay, the flamboyant city of Hearthrome! I get a pretty dress from my mum in the contest hall :) However, even wearing this wont make the lazy Fantina battle me.
-I am simply outraged at the pokemon discrimination in amity square. Shieldon and Omanyte, are extremely cute, and get terribly offended when they are not allowed pass.
- My rage fuels a brilliant win over Barry. Wilson can more than hold his own and is just pure special attacking awesomeness
-Bop over to Solaceon town. On my way, I beat the crap out of the mourning people in lost tower. Get Strength.
-Bung Eugene (Cranidos) into the daycare. Haha I feel bad, but he may come in handy later.
-Do some grinding and call it a day

Current team:

Archibald - Anorith - Lvl 15
-Cut
-Rock Smash
-Protect
-Water Gun

Francisco - Kabuto - Lvl 23
-Absorb
-Waterfall
-Mudshot
-Sand-attack

Augustine - Shieldon - Lvl 15

-Strength
-Protect
-Taunt
-Metal Sound

Randall - Lileep - Lvl 17

-Astonish
-Constrict
-Acid
-Ingrain

Hamilton - Aerodactyl - Lvl 23

-Bite
-Roar
-Stone Edge
-Fly

Wilson - Omanyte - Lvl 25

SS-M Challenge Update

Derped on over t' Kanto and went on the badge hunt for a short period 'fore handling the Power Plant's problem. Four badges down; the Thunder, Marsh, Cascade 'n Rainbow badges in specific; four more t' go. The Kanto Gym Leaders are noticeably easier than the Johto Leaders... namely 'cause I've got a full team with their proper movesets now. I've had the perfect answer for each Leader's team thus far.

Anyways, the team is as follows.

Tlaloc (Bronzong) @ Bright Powder, Lv. 48
Naughty
Levitate

Payback
Extrasensory
Earthquake
Rain Dance

Dirge (Slowking), @ Choice Specs, Lv. 48

Chlorophyll
Sassy

SolarBeam
Sleep Powder
Psychic

Poseiden @ Luck Incense, Lv. 51

Player Note: I have NEVER lost so many HPs in a game of Pokemon. Recoil moves aren't worth it... not when I can one hit opponents with weaker moves.

Player Mood: Wishing it was over.

Okay, fair enough (about the hacks). Guess I'll just do it for my own fun then, though I do highly recommend checking out Flora Sky some time. Completely new region with all pokemon to 5th gen split between 2 versions if the game. Bloody long too; takes at least 35 hours to beat E4. If it means anything I finished my ground mini-type with Torterra, Camerupt, Gliscor, Garchomp and Mamoswine. Much fun :)
