FR-NI Challenge Update

Been trainin' [STRIKE]in the mountains[/STRIKE] at a, uh... spa for the past hour or so. Only minutes 'fore givin' the E4 an utterly hopeless attempt, I apparently decided I do actually give a toss 'bout whiting out, so off t' level grind with the vs. seeker I went. Reviewing my plausible strategies t' deal with said elite trainers, I came t' the revelation that Moltres would be immensely helpful to cleanly sweep 'em. Fly would murder Agatha's Ghost-types via their low defense and crush Bruno's Fighting types without wasting Zynx's PP for Lovely Kiss and Dream Eater. A poorly EV'd Moltres is worlds better than a fully EV'd *Raticate anyways, so while it deeply saddens me t' do so, Josephine has been replaced by the fiery bird. Moltres is gonna need some Atk EVs for Fly to OHKO them Gengars, so the Ember Spa's countless Fighting-type trainers are the perfect training location... for Moltres, anywho.

No team update since this update overall is shite length anyways... nor am I done level grinding neither, just takin' a break for some dinner.

This is extemely early, but I'm going to do a monotype (grass) on pokemon X using Venusaur, Meganium, Sceptile, Torterra, Serperior and whatever Chespin's final evolution is called.
And is it ok for me to trade my pokemon to another game so they can learn thundebolt, flamethrower and overheat as they cant be obtained until after the 8th gym? Or should I just wait until I get it in game? This is for my B2MM

Emerald Single Scramble Challenge Update

Just earned badge #2 after defeating Brawly with a critical hit on my last move. So far, I'm still using Shroomish. At the moment, it's level 22, but I am unsure wether to evolve it now or later. Have to think about that. Other than that, no problems so far.

Shroomish, Level 22
@ Miracle Seed
Headbutt
Mega Drain
Stun Spore
Leech Seed

If I have the time, I'll continue tonight.

Derpotar

FR-NI Challenge Update

With all my grinding complete, Zynx 'n Blastoise are finally at level 65. Moltres as 67 due to some (wholly necessary) last-minute EV training for Speed. Josephine at lv. 51, an untrained Articuno 'n Snorlax also in tow, it's finally time to battle the Elite Four and put this Challenge int' the books!

First up is, of course, Lorelei. Her Dewgong is hardly a threat, but I'd prefer to minimalize damage taken, which brings me to the decision of leading with Zynx. Lovely Kiss misses on the first shot and her Dewgong gets in a middling Surf, dealing only 30 or so damage. The next Kiss hits, followed up by a Dream Eater t' fully restore Zynx's HP. Sadly, her Dewgong just barely holds on with a sliver of health, a full restore wakin' it up. I opted for Ice Punch t' just barely chip off enough HP to finish the job with another Dream Eater. Things go as planned when Lovely Kiss hits again; Dewgong is down.

She immediately sends out her Lapras, Zynx staying in. Lovely Kiss hits yet again, allowing me to score not one but two Dream Eaters, finishing off the sea ferrying Pokemon. Cloyster now comes in; and not wanting to waste more Lovely Kiss PP, I switch in Moltres. Cloyster's only offensive move is Dive, meaning Moltres is perfectly safe at all times. Not that it matters anyways, since one Flamethrower ruined it instantly.

Her semi-last Poke is Slowbro, the most annoying in that it's bulky and has a Sleep-inducing move. Blastoise finally hits the battlefield and tries to Bite it t' death, but Lorelei responds with Amnesia on turn 1. Switching to Strength, it's not enough to KO and she full restores her Slowbro after using Yawn, leaving Blastoise asleep. Luckily Lorelei wastes turns using Amnesia, allowing Blastoise to wake up and Strength it to death before it can do much with not-every-effective Surfs.

Her final Pokemon, Jynx, is sent out. This is where those Speed EVs come in handy: Moltres enters the battle and fires off a Flamethrower, outspeeding and KOing in one shot. That's one member of the E4 down! :D

Bruno is the easiest; he deserves no more than a synopsis. Blastoise's Surf ruined his two Onix, whereas Moltres' EV-bolstered Fly wrecked all three of his Fighting types in one shot, avoiding any Rock Tombs as a result. Easy.

Agatha is definitely the E4 member I'm most cautious of. Confuse Ray, Hypnosis, Sludge Bomb.. makes for a minefield of status afflictions. As is normal she starts off with a Gengar. To take advantage of it's low defense, Moltres smacks it with a Fly; but her lowest level Gegnar actually survives... and uses Double Team, the doom to all unlucky trainers like myself. A quick Flamethrower immediately snuffs out the Full Restore Agatha uses, another amazingly hittin', Lady Luck not spiting me for once. Out comes her Golbat, which is promptly met by Zynx's frozen fist and knocked out cold (lolololololololololol). Her stronger Gengar now joins the match, which has me worried. I was countin' on Moltres to OHKO her Ghosts. Zynx does have 40 more Sp.A than Moltres has Atk, so I decide to risk it.

... And regretted the decision. Ice Punch leaves it with a sliver, Gengar countering with a Shadow Ball... leaving Zynx with a pathetic amount of remaining HP as well. Damage calcs showed me it wouldn't OHKO, but I knew that this was a heavy price to pay. 22 HP won't let Zynx even take a Special Attack. Zynx finishes off the Gengar as Agatha wastes another Full Restore, then sending out Arbok. Not at all willing to risk Lovely Kiss' accuracy; I absolutely NEED Zynx to beat Lance; I switch in Blastoise. Hydro Cannon ruins the cobra in one shot, at least that going as planned.

Her final Pokemon, a weak Haunter is sent out. Moltres flies into it and finishes it off timely, securing me the victory. But now Zynx can't take a single hit, meaning I can't risk a missed Lovely Kiss on Green's Arcanine or Alakazam. Not good... time for some scheming. Lance is the perfect target for said scheming in the mean time.

Lance's Gyarados is met by my terribly low level Snorlax... but for good reason. Lance can't even 2HKO this Snorlax with any move but Hyper Beam. If it uses Hyper Beam, Zynx has two shots with Lovely Kiss to Dream Eater and steal some HP back. If it doesn't use Hyper Beam, Yawn will put it to sleep. If Snorlax is KO'd on the turn Gyarados will fall asleep, Zynx can Dream Eater and be guaranteed to not be hit by a Hyper Beam, recovering HP and ensuring a KO. If Gyarados never uses Hyper Beam, Snorlax can simply Rest up and repeat the process until Gyarados falls for the trap.

On turn one, Gyarados fires it's laser and falls for it instantly. Zynx comes in, kisses the useless evolution t' sleep and devours it's dreams like a certain Schala y'all might know. It has a fraction of it's vitality left, allowing Lance to Full Restore it, but two Ice Punches ruin the sea dragon and leave Zynx at near full health again. Success! In comes Aerodactyl, which just trades a low-damage Ancient Power with my Blastoise's Surf. Zynx takes care of everythin' from there with super-effective Ice Punch, exploiting the Dragon Master's blatant weakness perfectly.

Victory is within reach. Onward to the final round. Champion Green wants to battle! Out comes Pidgeot. I lead with Moltres since it isn't absolutely necessary to win the match; if somethin' retarded somehow happened to Jynx, a STAB Aerial Ace might actually KO. Speakin' of, Moltres trades said Aerial Ace with a Flamethrower, burning Pidgeot and takin' minimal damage in the process. Green switches into another useless Gyarados, sponging the Flamethrower for low damage.

I counter by sending in Josephine, not wanting to switch Blastoise or especially Zynx in on a Thrash. For whatever stupid reason it uses Dragon Rage, allowing Josephine to go out with a bang via Double Edge. Damage was low, but left Green's Gyarados with just a fraction less than half health. Using damage done t' Lance's Gyara as a measurin' tool, I was assured Zynx could finish the job with Ice Punch, which certainly took place after Josephine fell to a Hydro Pump and Zynx came in for the revenge kill.

Next came Rhydon. I switched to Blastoise and smashed it with Surf, OHKOing with all-due overkill. Alakazam shows up alongside my Zynx for a duel of Psychic types. Lovely Kiss prevents it from doin' a thing, Dream Eater lowering Alakazam to about 50% health, restoring Zynx to 100% HP. Ice Punch finishes it off. Venusaur is sent out for some illogical reason, Moltres switchin' in to deliver a super-effective Flamethrower. Down to his last Pokemon, Arcanine is sent out.

Comin' full circle with the Challenge, it ends how it starts: out comes Blastoise to deal the final attack. A desperate Extremespeed does paltry damage, unable to KO even if it would've been a crit. One Hydro Cannon later... Challenge complete! Yet not a single white out was had that day. Finally at the end'a this long road, the team is as follows, entering the Hall of Fame.

Moltres, lv. 68

Moveset:

Flamethrower
Fly

B2MM UPDATE

I did all the necessary stuff in pokestar studios and the went back to Virbank to see Hugh and Roxie facing 3 team Plasma grunts. I decided to help them beat the grunts. Then they decided to run off, forcing me to follow them and beat them a second time. I the sail to Castelia City and beat team Plasma for the 3rd time in ten minutes.
I then go to the gym without any extra training because I had the type advantage. I destoyed almost everything in the gym. Unfortunately, I didn't have the type advantage against the Dwebbles. Luckily I beat 2 of the 3 quite easily. The 1 that wasn't easily defeated was Burgh's. After I KOed his Swadloon, he used his Dwebble. It OHKOed lots of my team with a super-effective smack down. I switched in to my Combusken, hoping I wouldn't be OHKOed with smack down. I used double kick, not wanting to risk setting up a swords dance.
Bad news: double kick didn't do much damage
Good news: neither did smack down.
I decided it was safe to set up a swords dance. I then double kicked his Dwebble until it had a tiny bit of HP left. Dwebble was then healed. I got one more double kick in before Combusken was KOed by smack down. I sent my Eevee in to finish Dwebble off with a a Return. Return did more damage than I expected, KOing it in one shot after a double kick. Leavanny went down in one shot to my Houndour's Ember.
Now that I think about Eevee's Return, it shouldn't have surprised me that it did that much. When I was level grinding back at Virbank Complex, Eevee was trying to evolve into Espeon, showing that it has high friendship/happiness. It also has adaptability, giving Return a x2 boost insted of x1.5. That's about as powerful as a non-STAB self destuct.
I then travelled to route 4, got dig and taught it to Eevee. I then went to desert resort to get the hidde fire stone. Eventually I found it and evolved my Eevee into Flareon. I battled all the trainers that I could find, regularly getting the nurse to heal my pokemon.
I travelled to Nimbasa City after that and am currently level grinding on route 16.
Full team update coming soon.

Fire Red scramble Challenge Update #2"
After catching Jigglysuck, I went in to the Pokemon Center before Mt. Moon, and to my surprise, bought a Magikrap from some dude. So my team was complete before the Moons. Pretty awesome, imo.
Found one Moon Stone, not sure which to use it on first.
Beat Misty, Blue, and am currently on the S.S. Anne.

Current team:
Raizhu (Pikachu) Level 24
Leonardo (Wartortle) Level 24
King Moron (Nidorino) Level 18
Kyle (Magikrap) Level 11
Nikki (Jigglysuck) Level 11

Leave 'em be, he's just angry that his favorite 'mon (rightfully) has "ass" in it's name.
