They are all dead and just a memory of there former selves. We can battle them and get their cards which allows us to recruit them.

However Priam is not dead and the sword is old and lost some of it's former power.

So it is canonical, and they died long ago but came back as zombies?

The final boss on his level has a sword called "Sol Katti." You retrieve the sword once you defeat the boss.

It has a 50% Critical chance that will DOMINATE everything. At least that's what my Ike did........
