HMMMM That looks like the Front Page of my NINTENDO POWER magizine, Volume 222, December 2007, It serously is the same picture with the captions removed the title added and Pit flying over head

oh... well, thats the official cover art that i see on the ign SSBB section. so it's likely to be real. although if that's not what you were implying then dissregard the comment.
i wonder whether they'll change the box-art after charcter confirmations... i doubt, the charcters on there were the original charcters for brawl.

That cover art does look familiar. that was also made before sonic was revealed. Was sonic one that you had to unlock? if he is then there's another reason they usually only show the ones that you start with.

Snake would have been in Melee but they had a deadline to meet, which also explains why there were so many clones in Melee
