I know it sounds kinda hipster, but... I like to main characters who're not popular. It's just so much fun beating other people who're using top tier characters.
But at the beginning before the tiers are even known... Probably Villager. Not sure yet though, I'd have to try every single one of them first ^^. Probably a new character though or one who's had quite some changes, like Sheik.

I'm sticking with Ike for now (and Marth for second, long live the Fire Emblem), but who knows?

Some of the newcomers might feel better playing as, and I might change my main. It all depends on their playstyle.

Based on the current revealed fighters, what will everyone be maining? I'm interested in seeing what Pacman plays like. No, I don't feel like looking at fighter reveal videos for that.

Not sure if I'd call it maining, but I could play decent with any character. I'm sure I'll play some a lot more than others.

In one, the majority of people generally enjoy themselves, but complain about everything. They have no sense of responsibility, and pointlessly struggle for dominance without any tact, or actual test of skill. The primary goal is a 'feel-good' sensation, that coddles those without actual ability, and shuns those who like results.

In the other, an authoritarian power tells them how to better reach the desired result; but despite limitations being imposed, the minority group who would actually like to see genuine improvement (as it matters more to them than comfort) feel greater satisfaction.

That's not how it works.

In short, a top tier character's viability only matters when that player is MLG-pro-tourney winner level of skill. 'Less said character is as bullshit-broken as Meta Knight, whom is ****ing unpunish-able... Casuals and semi-competitive players can't utilize the strategies that make a character top tier because they're not the ones puttin' in 8 hours a day to figure out and/or subsequently master these retardedly good strategies.

Another important fact is that a bad character can still have positive match-ups against top-tier characters. Squirtle allegedly bodies Ice Climbers.

Also recall my mention of how "casual play tier lists" are technically a thing. A competitively top tier character might be absolutely garbage in casual tiers due to complete reliance on, say, a bundle of advanced techniques, something not seen in casual play 99% of the time. Snake would be a good example of that.

Yeah I'm loving the alts as well, even the ones who're really just a special colorswap. I really hope (almost) every character will get at least one of those

I still say that Link bodies Snake pretty hard, the matchup chart is wrong on that. I have lots of vBrawl Snake experience, and that's really hard. Links just don't zair enough... exception being Izaw.

Bullshit as the Whorenado is (dat 23% and retarded priority and use as a recovery move), Meta is broken for so many other reasons lol. He needs nerfs for nearly all of his moves.
