Super Smash Bros. 4

ohai

so characters and movesets should be the same? that's what I'm mainly interested in.

For returning characters, it's what one should expect... but don't expect move properties to be the same. Balancing, changes in physics (fall speed, knockback calculation, momentum, the game's engine itself, etc.) and buffs/nerfs will drastically change some moves that otherwise look the same. Case in point, Falcon's knee from Melee to Brawl.

Mind you, some of ye olde cast may get a new move or two in the name of balancing, such as with Olimar. Or like with Zelda 'n Sheik, simply outta necessity.

As for a Namco, if Nintendo actually inputs a Namco character, I would think Yoshimitsu would have a high chance since he is in both Tekken and Soul Calibur.

If a Namco character is gettin' in, they'd have to be the most iconic representation of the company. Previous crossovers wouldn't factor in, I don't think. Is pogo samurai really that famous?

when I meant same movesets, I meant the same movesets and properties for each character in the 3DS and Wii U versions. but that information is good to know.

He is a "pogo samurai".
the thing is, he has appeared in every game in both the Tekken and Soul series, not simply "previous crossovers". and he is well received on both sides. That's why I brought him up, but I see what you mean. Iconic status probably isn't that high compared to other Namco characters.

Team Pac-man vs Team Other Namco Character
This is basically what we're looking at when it comes to Namco characters. I'm still against playable Pac-Man, mainly because they would obviously do the Pac-Man World version and his abilities, and I just don't feel that's proper representation of him. If that's going to happen I'd rather see his classic version as an assist.

I'd always take a Tales, Tekken, or Soul Calibur character over that version of Pac-Man, but at the same time I can see myself accepting him pretty easily when he is actually out, just like the Fit Trainer.

Guys, did you even look at the link I sent you? If not, here's the link again: http://www.onefinalsmash.com/
Yoshimitzu definitely has a very high chance of appearing.

Reason 1: It's a Mercenary / Demon. That ain't Pac-Man, that's for sure. It could both be Yoshimitzu and Devil Jin as far as I know
Reason 2: "This Mercenary is coming to Nintendo!", which means it's most likely a Namco Bandai character.
Reason 3: I was on my iPod when I posted it and the sound was off, but now that I watch it again, you can hear swords in the background.
> NOT Pac-Man. Most likely not Devil Jin either. Sooo, it's either Yoshimitzu or a different sword character from Soul Calibur.

Counterreason against Yoshimitsu: Yoshimitsu is a ninja, not really a mercenary. And even though he kinda looks like one, he's not a demon either.

So, I'm guessing it's a Soul Calibur character, but not Devil Jin and not Yoshimitsu either...
