Super Smash Bros. 4

I've got an interesting idea: item exclusives. Every character has a special item that will only appear when they're in the match, i.e. a Tanooki Suit when Mario is around, a Luxury Ball when Pokemon Trainer shows up (releases only good Pokemon and a much higher chance for legendaries to appear; no bloody Goldeens), etc. Anyone can pick up and utilize these items, of course.

Mallow could make a decent assist trophy with his lightning special. But I'm sure 99.9% of the world doesn't know who Mallow is.

He's probably in the same vote as Geno... bloody square. =/ I couldn't give two ****s 'bout SMRPG gettin' into the smashing, but plenty others do.

The thing about SMRPG is that Square Enix already denied it. Here's another thing, though: Even if Square Enix joins the showdown, they won't accept an SMRPG character. It's not popular enough, and not tied enough in people's minds to Square Enix itself.

As much as I like FF7 and Cloud (not the over-emo'd KH and AC versions), I would hate for him to join Smash Bros. for obvious Ike-like reasons. If Square Enix DID join in, though, they would of course want to submit their most popular character, which is Cloud by a landslide, being the titular character of sorts for Square in both Japan and overseas alike. Square Enix would never hear the end of it if they went with ANYTHING other than the Cloud-playable, Tifa-assist combo.

Sorry Geno fans either way, and sorry online players if Square Enix does jump in, because you'll be seeing Cloud, Cloud, Cloud.

No way in Hell they'd use Cloud. I can almost guarantee if Square joined in, Geno would be put in. Simply because that's the highest demanded Square character.
Carpainter would be lulzy. What about Dr. Andonuts?

And on the note of Earthbound, I nominate Mr. Carpainter as an assist. Essentially, he's Nintendog but instead of being really ****in' annoying and blocking the screen, everything is painted to a shade of blue.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Dx

I have no problems with Cloud as a character (particularly not the supposed-"emo" Cloud everyone complains about-- but this isn't the thread for that...), but with his fanbase, holy hell do I. Wiichat had a "if Cloud joins the Brawl" thread some years ago. It wasn't pretty.

Good thing we're 99% guaranteed to never see hide nor hair of Square in SSB.

I would have to say a Slime has a greater chance than Cloud

SLIME is the most popular character by a bigger landslide

Slime has his iconic qualities and Dragon Quest is about as popular in Japan as Final Fantasy, but when you count overseas, where Dragon Quest is still quite under the radar, there's a large difference. Also, Dragon Quest isn't being as focused on as Final Fantasy. If I'm not mistaken, its last game was IX (which was probably the only one that was a big hit overseas.) Final Fantasy is consistently getting new games and being publicized through new Kingdom Hearts games.

And then Cloud being Final Fantasy's defining character is obvious. He and Sephiroth both have huge roles in each Kingdom Hearts release, AC created a legion of fans who've never even played the original game, and it was only expanded upon with the popular Crisis Core. I also found it funny that in Dissidia's credits where every character in the cast was listed by game order, the only exception was VII, with Cloud and Sephiroth being the first two to appear in the credits in their own spot haha.

I actually wouldn't mind having Cloud in the game personally (I've wanted to see Cloud and Link duke it out), but when I think about how every match would be 9/10 Cloud, I have to cringe. Well, like said before, Square Enix at least currently wouldn't join in. There is a whole good 2 to 3 years of development for the game before it would be too late to add a character from scratch for SSB4 though, and that's just assuming they actually started after Uprising was done. It's probably a bit longer.

Such is the beauty of moveset hax. I couldn't possibly remember who made it, but I believe someone on KC:MM made a brilliant Cloud hack. He essentially played like an Ike that was made high tier, what a surprise.

Umm... does it count anywhere else
They added Marth and Roy in Melee and no one overseas knew about them.

Thought we were talking about Squeenix
