Ridley in Brawl.

Andross plays a large role in the Star Fox series. He is one of the main antagonists. From your reasoning, I could equally say that Ridley is "Just a dragon-alien".

Yes, but Bowser and Ganondorf aren't generally the size of a mobile-home.

Ridley is an important antagonist that appears in almost all of the Metroid series. And so is Andross (except he's from Star Fox). The only thing is, it would be very odd playing as a giant head that looks like an incompleted 3D model the size of most of the stages. Also, what would Andross' attacks be? Only thing I can think of is spitting panels at people. While Ridley, in other hand has so many possible attack patterns. He can claw, punch, bite, breath fire, fly, and even wack with his tail. And scaling down ridley to an appropriate size should be no problem for Nintendo.

And have you seen Bowser in SM 64, SMSN, and SMG? He's at least 25 times bigger than Mario (In SMSN and SMG).

That's only the SNES model BTW. He has other forms...

Not to forget that Metroid is a bigger franchise than Starfox.
So? What's you're point?

Just saying. Sakurai said he wanted to up the Metroid rep. Ridley has been mentioned in two Metroid updates. And he was also very high in the character poll (remember, the Japanese aren't massive fans of Metroid anymore... but they still want Ridley in Brawl)

The odds are in his favour, moreso than they EVER were in Andross' favour.

@lmx-Wait, are you implying that Andross was considered for a PC? That's the dumbest/funniest thing i've ever heard.
Also, I consider a lot of you're posts to either be flamebait or fanboyish. Just throwin that out there.

So would that mean that having Ridley as an awesome, unique playable character wouldn't be logical?

No, I'm saying that numbing down his size and fitting him as a play-able character instead of putting him in a much more appropriate boss character when you could just use a hunter from the Prime series is much less logical.

Never said it wouldnt. Just think SSB isnt ready for something like Ridley. AND there needs to be room to grow in the series, so save some of the popular charecters (Ridley, Krystal, K. Rool, Dixie, etc), for the next SSB.

But I thought this is supposed to be the last Super Smash Bros. At least done by Sakurai. He already left Hal Inc, and created Sora LTD. So i'd think he'd want to leave his mark if this is the last Smash game HE'LL be doing.

Unless they invite him to work on a Smash Bros. 4 again. :yesnod:

Yeah, Sakurai pulld a Yuji Naka on us. No more of his greatness will be present in any more SSBs.

No! T_T''

Well, with a name like Sora LTD, how can you go wrong in making games! Please tell me he still has the rights to Kirby. The man made him at 19. He should be able to keep his work of art! It's like a chunk of his mind...

The Prime hunters should be equivalent to all the Link's in Melee's adventure mode.

Ridley is more important to the Metroid franchise + Samus than anyone else in Metroid. He should be playabe. Anything less is a travesty.
