Ridley in Brawl.

@^Get on topic you lot...

I have no doubt he could be a decent playable charecter, but I still say a difficult boss role ONLY is a much better move. There needs to be a stand-alone boss from Metroid, and who better than Ridley?

Just because he CAN be a great char. in A fighting game, doesnt mean he SHOULD be, otherwise the SSBB roster would include hundreds of charecters, you understand? There needs to be room to grow for the series, and although SSBB brings a lot of odd and questionable charecters to the table, (and a bunch of chars. that dont belong) I dont think it's late enough to add Ridley or anything like it.
I agree Ridley has a helluve bloody chance, (because that completely absurd and outragous BS Pokemon Trainer charecter was somehow thrown in) but IMO SSB isnt ready for Ridley yet.

Im with Wreched.Ridely rocks!!Man,you guys can sure type!!!The thing Wreched wrote at the start was HUGE!!!! You guys siad he was to big.Think about Giga Bowser!!!! But Im not sure he will be a playable character,sadely.....

Giga Bowser is feasable through a Final Smash only...duh

Ridley's Final Smash can be Omega Ridley.

Meta Ridley can be a boss. And if you want a stand-alone boss then for f's sake choose Kraid. That guy is massive and has no hopes for anything BESIDES a boss character in Brawl.

Ridley for Brawl, otherwise this will be less of a game.

Ummm, No.....this game will not be less of a game...It will indeedly be a GREAT game.....

(I hate when ppl talk down on a game.....when they themselves have no idea what they are talking about)

Who cares if Ridley is in or not....it wont stop us from playing the game now will it? We didnt need him on the 1 or 2nd series of SSB now did we?

So why are we so awe(d) about it now?

Well im not in awe//

Granted that my statement was a bit harsh. But if nobodies like King Dedede and Pokemon Trainer can get in then Ridley should already be in. Because his awesomeness far exceeds theirs.

I have always wanted him in Smash. I can understand him not being in Smash 64 but I really wish he was in Melee, but I hold no grudges because it compensated by being really awesome. Brawl is looking to follow trend but having Ridley playable would just push it above Melee, without him it'll be a tough call.

Note: I don't play Smash for single-player, its a multiplayer game so don't try using SSE against me. I could care less for it.

I still can't see him as anything other than a boss, but more power to ya if he's a PC. Would much rather see him in rare form (MP3) as a boss...

hey remember, it's nintendo anything can happen! i would love ridley in ssbb, but they might just get another metroid character in there: stylux 0_o

Well, honestly, i've never played a Metroid game in my life, so the only charecters I know about are Samus, Kraid, and Ridley, so I couldnt say any other chars. Maybe Ridley can lead parts of the sub-space army. Have a position simular to General Strogg from GoW.

So what do you guys take of today's update. The little mention of Ridley and boss in the same sentence again. I say it's good, no other character has been mentioned on the site by sakurai twice. So Ridley for Brawl on monday.

Sorry couldn't hear you speak a little louder next time.

@Byuakuya, JCpacker05, Zeldaforlife, size and boss is the weakest arguement against him. Here this may help you understand my point of view. I should put these on the first post.

'He would be a boss.'
Ofcourse he should be. That is what he always has been. Does this mean he should be unplayable? No way! Bowser and Ganondorf have also been bosses, but they are playable in Melee. (Ridley is often considered the 'Bowser and Ganondorf' for Metroid) The recently confirmed boss, Petey Piranha, is not important to the Mario series. He's popular yes, but not important. Meta-Ridley, the huge cybernetic Dragon of Metroid Prime would make a great boss, in fact. He could stay his huge size. And attack in the same method. Dropping bombs for players to catch and throw back at him. Once grounded, he would use his dash attack to try and knock away players. That is when you dodge, and attack him during Meta-Ridley's lag. If you don't cause enough damage, look out for his plasma beam! It could be quite intense! 'Classic' Ridley however, could also be an earlier 'boss' that you must fight and defeat. He would be like a normal playable character, though. (Although probably made heavier to make him more difficult) Only later will he return as the monstrous Meta-Ridley boss. You may notice 'Boss Fight' in the title of Ridley's theme. This is only the name of the song used in the games, the 'Boss Fight' there to show Ridley's boss status in his games.

'He would look awkward.'
Ridley is large and lanky, yes. But, that is just how Ridley is. It's part of his character. He could still be made to fight in the world of Smash quite easily. Donkey Kong has a huge head and long, large arms, but small legs in comparison. Kirby and Jigglypuff have tiny, stubby arms and huge feet tacked on their round bodies. Yet, all of these examples have proven Smash-worthy, have they not? He may look a little different from your average human-shaped fighter, but give him a chance.

'He's too big.'
Ridley's size is hardly an argument. Smash is meant to bring fan-favorite Nintendo (mostly) characters into playable fighting form. As long as a moveset can be created for them then they are Smash-capable. Ridley size would not interfere with this. Bowser is a good example, as he has been much larger than Ridley ever has been in some games, but in other games (even Smash) he has been downsized to fit whatever role he is given. Ridley's role has always been as a boss. (an important one, at that) It's only natural for him to be large and imposing for this role. Ridley's role in Smash? To fight ofcourse! So he would be easily downsized so he could do so with the rest of the Nintendo all-stars.

@AndThen As for the ground thing, he will most likely float kinda like mewtwo but he will be flapping his wings the whole time.

@ Rhinos I know i'll ignore him. See above for boss arguement.

Hey guess what mushroomed mario, save you for last.

Oo big scary guy with a lot of posts and rep. I don't care if I make enemies. If that's how I have to get my point across, so be it. I won't let, as Rhinos says, a prick like you get in my way. I am not a 'noob'. A noob is not about their post count, it's their ideas, their lack of knowledge. So you have no business to call me a noob because i'm new to THIS forum. So when am I worhy of getting to use failed. When I am an ******* like you. And I have a question, do you want Waluigi in Brawl?

EDIT: Disregard what i said here if you read it. I totally misread the post. i am an idiot.

Ness has....but yeah it's pretty obvious that Ridley will have SOME kind of inclusion in brawl, i wander what kind of role he will have in SSE, cause he's not the kinda boss that you just beat once....sorta like bowser jr.

He didn't say it wouldn't be great, he said it would be 'less of a game'. Big difference.

Wow...just wow. No comment.

I totally agree. Who needs ANY new characters? Didn't stop us from playing SSBM. In fact, why don't we keep all the same stages and modes too! Sounds great...

What are you talking about "awe"? If I'm in "awe" of anything, it's that you people's defenses for Ridley not to be included are a bit sad. Just like the debates of Sonic for the past few years. "He'll be too weak, too fast, too weird" etc. Saying things like that are pathetic excuses for Ridley not to be in.

Ridley Boss Music. Ridley Boss stage. Ridley in the clouds, along with Bowser and Ganondorf (who is most likely going to be playable). There's so many freaking signs it's like a slap in the face IMO.
