btw rawr, how do you use the lightning effect?
is that a brush?

for PS, i usually brush with a bright yellow colour with a soft circle, set it to screen/lighten/soft light. If it needs to be brighter i just add on with a smaller white soft brush on top of it. Lowered opacity maybe. Then i do the B/W-luminosity gradient map thing to enhance it.
