Project M Discussion Thread

@Trago & Mr.MR:
Code is in my signature.
----------------------

I say yes to Awakening Roy costume. He has a small variety from what I've seen so far. I've tried my hand at making one; failed miserably, never again.

I've been trying to customize my layout in the character screen select and stage select, so far it's been working and I like the look of it. I'm not absolutely sure it desyncs wifi, but I'm going to disable it just in case. Custom costume and CSP modding has a new "easier" way to swap them on the fly, but I've only known the method using BrawlBox. I've been trying to find a tutorial on the easier method but all I get is text that confuse me even more. At Trago & Mr.MR: Did you actually check? XD It's my "Wii Friend Code" on the side (minus the ending 4 zeroes). I wonder how long it'll take for you to find this. Adding custom music is easy enough, but changing the song titles in the Menus and during gameplay is a lot to go through. Now I've heard there are many more customization you can add to the game, which is nice.

If my common and/or menu.pac or whatever is different, would it cause me to desync? I could probably just experiment with this stuff, but I'd rather ask rather than do tests you guys may have an answer to. I don't think it would do too much because I have changed some names and descriptions of stuff without desyncing so far.

How did you get the CSPs to work? They changed something in 3.0, and those files aren't in the common5.pac anymore IIRC.

As for the custom music, don't change the song titles in the Menu. It won't desync us, but you'll be off a lot better if you know the name of the song(s) you replaced. If you don't know what one of your songs are, just listen to it. Don't bother with changing the names.

Mine never did, so I don't think so. Be careful though, because 3.0 has different files and layouts than older versions of Project M. If you ever find something interesting that can be brought up and changed for custom content, tell us (or just me). Most of them don't affect Wi-Fi.

For CSPs, I use Brawl Costume Manager (also comes with a Music and Stage manager which are easy to use). First link on Google.
For customizing the layout,[STRIKE] I've been using the Flaming Blue CSS[/STRIKE], which I've read ALWAYS desyncs. So I'm taking it off permanently.

I've successfully changed music titles easily, again using the managers. It's rather very simple once you know what to do and have the audio files premade, though it's also easily made.
SFX (not included) is harder though and I don't recommend messing with it. Weird things can happen.

Yeah, I know how to change CSPs (personally I prefer just Brawlbox) but what file are they stored in? It's not common5.pac anymore.

-_- Still, you might want to keep track of the original song instead of your own, because you might change your own later.

You sure? That's where I'm redirected.
Or try SD root\ projectm \ pf \ menu \ common \ char_bust_tex

When I open the manager, It tells me the name if I had edited in and save it.

They used to be in the MiscData, right? That still works for you? When I replaced them in 3.0, my CSPs didn't show up like they usually did...

@Trago:
They moved them around. If it does show up, you didn't install PM right.
It's showing up on mine.

BrawlBox -> common5_en
common5_en
---sc_selcharacter_en
------char_bust_tex_lz77
---------MiscData[***CharID***]
