I think so too. It was a shake when B/W introduced showing off your team, but knowing that before you attack would not be fair at all.

No, it'd still be plenty fair otherwise. But the way it is, it's just a very slight advantage. Feigning an item for one turn might coax an opponent into a less-than-optimal decision.

Is that an event? Or was it just in the demo?

I get all my Pokenews from Serebii since they're so bloody quick to update, and all they said was "A Shiny Sylveon was spotted" in the demo. It's likely that t'was just by chance. Not an in-game or downloadable event, I'd imagine.

I think having another Battle Revolution would be stupid because all the battles are in 3D anyways... Plus Battle Revolution wasn't very good anyways, they should've just made a 3D version of the Emerald Battle Frontier.

Yep, the allure 3D Pokemon battles once had is long passed.

... But Battle Revolution was definitely good; if you're a competitive battler.

For me, using the original names and being closer to the games makes it better lol. The lack of character development was understandable, but the inconsistencies just pissed me off.
 
There ain't really any inconsistencies since the anime, manga and games are all separate stories and universes. The latter releases quite obviously draw from the previous ones, but none'a them really intersect or run parallel. 'Specially not with the anime.

That is a really good answer! Its not that there based off each other, there just different INTERPRETATIONS. That now makes me dislike the anime a lot less.

But on terms of X and Y stuff, I think this little sub-conversation has steered way further off than the new special/whatever the heck Origins is.

But speaking on interpretations of games to anime/Origins, it seems like since Origins is slightly more game-oriented, I'm wonderinbg if Origin's Red will be the exact Red from the games, or just a new Red...

In other news, I wonder if Swalot has a chance to be retyped to Poison/Fairy. It seems to be a requirement for Fairy-types to be cute/pretty in some way, and while you may not find Swalot that cute personally, it...

...it doesn't exactly have what you call competition in the mono poison department. They could just introduce a Poison/Fairy type, or not have one at all, I just felt like pointing out the possibility, since I like Swalot.

A Pokemon fighting games would be (one of) the best things ever, depending especially on the Pokemon playable in it.

...whatever. But WOAH, Sylveon just took a critical hit Hydro Pump from Life Orb Politoed in the rain with about half health left. Is that even possible without a water resist? I don't fully understand...

I did a damage calc, and an uninvested Politoed will take away, at minimum, 37% of Max Sp. Defense Blissey's HP. With max Sp. Attack that changes to a minimum of 53%. So, unless Sylveon has absolutely absurd special bulk, Fairy seems to be resistant to water, even if the video didn't say it. Going off the stats Eeveelutions are assigned (60/65/65/95/110/130), even if Sylveon had maxed out 110 base HP and 130 base Sp. Defense that attack should have barely left it living, if not just straight out killed it.

Sylveon has Cute Charm, btw, so it wasn't an ability.

I really hope I'm not missing something, because it looks like Fairy resists water.

Edit: Okay, before it looks like I don't know what I'm talking about (....), I didn't actually check the video (read: not captions) footage to see if it said "not very effective", or something. Because apparently I'm too lazy to check that but I'm fine with doing a million calculations.
