Pokemon X/Y

One could argue that Light typing would require too many previous Pokemon to adopt said type, such as Lanturn, Ampharos, Volbeat, etc.
This is why I don't want a new type to be introduced. It makes it too complicated for the other Pokemon, if they change.

And if they don't change then I don't even know what'll happen.

What would be the difference between that and Psychic?

A shitton of things. What does good/physical properties of light have t' do with psychokinesis 'n other such mental powers?

Maybe.......Bug?

lolno

Kinda random at this point. I feel like there has to be a reason for a new type appearing instead of it just popping out of the blue. GSC had an excuse, being the second games in the series. This is part of why I think it may be related to genetic engineering, as that would be related to story elements.

The hell does genetic engineering have t' do with XY... ?

Also, the excuse for GS t' introduce new types wasn't just bein' the second game in the series, t'was for balancing purposes. Both Steel 'n especially Dark were meant to hamper the overpowered Psychic types of RBY.

Speakin' of balancing, Water types need t' stop bein' so damn good... Poison types need a buff too. Why they don't yet hit super-effective both Normal and especially Fighting confuses me deeply.

No, definitely not. Steel 'n Dark improved the game's balance wholly. We've been over this. A new type won't destroy anythin' unless Game Freak literally does a terrible job balancing it, stop with the logic-lacking "do not want new type" talk.

There's theories involving X and Y being related to genetics. I find it likely.

That too!

Poison should be super effective against water. It makes sense (pollution), and it would help solve both problems.

Everything about it's many names have to do with fairies
I say this makes it seem Normal type like Clefairy

MOONSTONES EVERYONE

Regardless of whether it's Normal type or not, Moon Stones will NOT be involved, I assure you.

I can see why you think it could be normal (I consider Normal the second most likely option), but like I said, there's too much mystery surrounding it for it to be Normal type, imo.
Wouldn't it make sense either way?

Water could wash away Poison, making it super effective against it.
That would make the types even more unbalanced....

'Karp damnit, I forgot 'bout that again.

'Sides makin' Water even moar overpowered, nah. Water can certainly "wash" away pollution, but chemicals 'n sludge still remain in said water. Water doesn't destroy pollution like it would douse fire, so I don't agree with that. Good thinkin' though.

But it would also make sense.
.......

Water doesn't just "wash away" poison, though. The poison is inside the bodies of poison types, you can't wash that away, and water certainly doesn't affect it (aside from watering it down). Poison, on the other hand, gets into water and makes it undrinkable. I can see the poison getting into water types and totally screwing them over.

And while it doesn't make nearly as much sense, I wish Poison was resistant to water as well. There's only three things that resist water: water itself, grass, and dragon. Two of the three are disposed of by Ice attacks, and the other one arguably makes water even more overpowered, considering that it's one of the few things reliable enough to take on its own type.

Poison's not weak to ice, and unlike Water types, it has STAB that can actually hurt Water types a lot (assuming it was super effective as I mentioned before). Poison type Pokemon and poison type attacks would suddenly skyrocket in usage, considering how prominent Water-types are.

And as another added bonus, Poison types don't care about getting Toxic'd by the fairly common bulky waters; they're immune!

I think poison should be super effective against water. It only takes a little poison to make water undrinkable.
