This question came up in the smogon q & a I thought it might spark SOME question asking here...

What determines what color a Shellos hatches in? Is it the color of the female, male? If both parents are different colors is it random?

the female color is the color the they will become. If you use ditto, they will always be pink

1. no, it slows it down to .5 if you do that, i tested, and it took way longer to hatch my gibles.

2. no, but most people put the magma armor poke in the front..

HOW IT WORKS
Internally their is a separate step counter of 0 to 255, every time this counter reaches zero, the game does several things. The first is to remove 1 from each egg counter from top to bottom, then a simple line of code, looking something like "Does poke 1 have magma armor / Flame body. If no +1 to poke number repeat. If number = 7, end. If yes then goto ...." where it subtracts one from each egg counter, again. Whenever an egg counter is zero, and the step counter hits it again, it hatches.


Other things the step counter controls is happiness given.

So, no.
The game only checks if it is in your party, and the game only does that process once, to subtract an aditional 1, so only one slugma/magmar/numel per party

You get ev's via exp. So unless you got exp. through catching it than no.

In any case, that shiny Shinx is total rubish, and to top it off, I caught it on my Diamond file so it says OT BOBBY...

In the third generation games, you can catch mew, with an item that is only aquired with a Nintendo give away.

Yeah, I got 2 legit Mew.

THe Old Sea Chart is the item although I am yet to find someone with a Mew caught through that. Everyone has Mews from the Toys R Us event last year.

Humn, usually I can answer questions like this, but can you trade pokes out of the Sinnoh dex to someone with out the national dex?

If its a legal trade, sure, any perticular nature you would like for your charmander?
