And yet the National League still leads 40-36...FR. said:So Ichiro wins the All-Star game MVP, great player. And the American League wins yet again. When was the last time the NL won, 1996?

It is actully 41-35, NL leads. There have been two ties, one in 1961 and the other in 2002. Shall we talk about interleague records which actually count in regular season standings? I think those are crap as well. It adds to the unbalanced schedule that the league already considers normal.maddmaxx46 said:And yet the National League still leads 40-36...
Wikipedia says 40-36 with two ties so one of us is a game off. Don't get me started on regular season games. The NL was very dominate for a while but the AL beat the NL again this year in regular games played.dakuda said:Longest winning streak prior to this was the NL winning 11 (1972 - 1982) in a row. Simple answer: nope.

The darn All Star game is an exhibition game. If you ask me, it should NOT determine the home-field advantage in the World Series. Exhibition games should have NO bearing on the regular season or the playoffs.

I don't think home field advantage is that big anymore. The Cardinals showed they didn't need home field advantage last year.

I was talking about the 2002-2004 era but I forgot they lost by 1 in 2004. I don't think getting rid of interleague would make it that much more balanced. If they added 2 more teams to the AL and made four divisions in each league like the NFL does it would be balanced but I don't see that happening anytime soon.dakuda said:As for interleague, I would hardly call the NL 'winning' 97, 99, 02 and 03 as dominant for a long time. It was spaced out quite a bit. Interleague needs to go as well. Bring back the balanced schedule and get rid of all the crap Selig ideas.
