Official Baseball Talk

Final score for Mets-Marlins game played @ Dolphin Stadium: Mets 9, Marlins 2.

@Big_League_Slugger: Looks like the D-Train didn't do so good today. Almost had a no-hitter but Cabrera got a single in th 7th.

Mets are now 9-4.

Ahh, 1 of 19 right?? Too bad Dontrelle couldn't surpass the Babe's record. We haven't been able to hit since we beat ATL 11-4. I'm going to see the Fish take on the Mets next month in MIA.

A-rod.. Does it AGAIN!!!! 9-2 Yanks.... A-rod hit a 2 run shot in the 6th.YEAH!!!! GO YANKEES!!!

Is this the same A-Rod that was Boo'd quite a bit last year?
Fickle Yankee fans.

Buerhle's no-no should top every baseball site tonight. However, it won't due to east coast bias on most sports sites.

yup, and the same a-rod that tried to swat the ball out of Arroyo's glove in the 2004 ALCS.

sorry, im the resident red sox fan , i can't help it!

sox did ok today, wakefield was a little shaky, walking the bases loaded on two outs, but struck out the next guy to save himself. 4-1 ain't bad though, esp with a Lowell solo shot in the 5th, Mirabelli solo shot in 6th, and Ortiz going yard all by himself in the 7th. Is that like a....hat trick?

Wrong Sox for today. White Sox = no hitter.

I don't care what team you root for, a no hitter is a no hitter.

East Coasters do know the world revolves around the Sun, not Bristol, Connecticut?

BREAKING NEWS FROM NEW YORK, BOSTON, and PHILADELPHIA:

It has been discovered at 9:17 PM our time that there is a giant yellow object in the sky, and we appear to keep dodging it as it seems to move around us almost every day, it turns out. We will get further details as Bristol passes them along to us.

seriously, if they put a story like that out, it would not shock me in the slightest.

Whats the deal with all this bias talk. How did this conversation start?

when Beulere's no-no got no-no attention just cause it was in Chicago. if dice-k was pitching, he would have been the headline. kinda like when zito signed the contract, they mentioned it, and then that was it. if he went to the mets, his 0-2 start would be the front page of espn.com right now.

BTW, BONDS HITS 738 TO MOVE THE GAME TO EXTRAS!!!!!!!

I feel like a west coaster because ESPN hates the fish. I can't wait to get DTV and the Baseball channel comes out. Bye Bye ESPN

RICH AURILLA IN THE 12TH!!! GIANTS WIN!!!

this is probably the 4th best story tonight in baseball:
1. no-no
2. almost no-no
3. padres-d'backs 13 inning game
4. giants-cards 12 inning game
5. nats-phillies 10 inning game

An almost no-no isn't much of a story. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Once they get the hit, it loses its aura.

Dramatic wins in extras would be above almost doing something.
