We were looking at him before we picked up Julio. I think Julio will turn it around because the fish have a long history of resurrecting closer's careers.

hmm, i wonder if there will be any saringes thrown at Bonds today in S.D.? personally, i don't give a crap as long as the giants can score some frickin' runs!

Game Tonight: at Padres, Cain on hill
1st - Bonds draws walk, but nothin' else; Cain walks bases loaded, then gets popup 0-0
2nd - pathetic offense continues, no base runners; Cain answers with a 1-2-3 inning 0-0
3rd - had a chance to score, roberts called out for being hit?; Cain with another 1-2-3 inning 0-0
4th - 2 out single, still no offense; Cain pitching beautifully, but has 74 pitches through 4 innings 0-0
5th - 1-2-3, the offense is still pathetic; 2 beautiful plays by Visquel and Roberts to keep the no-no alive shh! 0-0
6th - got 2 men on, but still no runs; Cain gets 2 K's against the heart of the order, but his pitch count is really high 0-0
7th - get another leadoff double and can't score, this team pisses me off so much!!!!; Cain gives up a leadoff double, and the Padres actually know how to get him home :mad2: 0-1 Cain's line: 7 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 115 pitches
8th - 1,2,3 again, Bonds strikes out on 3 pitches, game basically over; Sanchez (bright spot in bullpen) gives up a 1 out single, but keeps lead at 1 Durham, Aurilla, Molina due up 0-1
9th - 2 out double but Pete Happy chases that low pitch and strikes out to end the game....... see recap 0-1 Padres

RECAP:
Well it is now painfully obvious that the Giants need more offense in their lineup. Pitching is essential, and the Giants def. have that, the problem is that you need to SCORE to win a game. You cannot win with 0 runs. We squandered a near-perfect outing by Matt Cain tonight. If Brian Sabean does not make a trade by this time tomorrow, he should be fired. We need a big-time hitter to make this lineup go. Somebody who can fall out of bed and get 30 HR and 100 RBIs. Guys who fit the bill: A-Rod, Richie Sexson, or Vlad Guerrero. Get somebody who can fit NOW!!
