Forgive me WiiChat, for I have sinned.
But I have learned my lesson. And I absolutely cannot keep doing it. Facebook groups for stuff like games are, in fact, the worst thing imaginable. It's a place where annoying people come together to argue over stupid **** and support incredibly bad ideas/characters.
I stuck it out with Final Fantasy. I joined a FFXIV group. That wasn't so bad. People exchange advice and talk about what they'd like to see in the next update. I guess for an MMO a Facebook group runs smoothly. Though every now and then you'd have some asshat ***** about noobs.
So when a general Final Fantasy group was suggested to me I thought, "Hey, I love almost all the FF games, so why not?" And I joined.
Then began my decent into madness.
As I tried to have discussions with "people" about my love for Final Fantasy, I was usually met with something like this:
"Final Fantasy VII is my fav FF EVAH!"
"Hey that's cool, VII is a good game. My favorite is X."
"So what ur telling me is 7 ain't ur fav FF?"
"Yeah, I mean I like it but my favorite has to definitely be X."
"LOL UR A FOCKIN NOOB FAG LOL VII IS THE BEST X IS FOR FAGGOT LOSERZ! UR SO CHILDISH 4 NOT LIKIN 7 TEH BEST."
Or...
"Who would win, Batman or Cloud."
*I would go into a long respectible explanation of why Batman would beat Cloud with relative ease*

And that's when I remembered that I love Sonic games, good ones anyway, but never in a million years will I claim the fanbase.

Lesson I've learned with Final Fantasy, anyone that thinks 7 is the best generally is a moron. People that like 6 are old school fans and those that like 13 are creeps or "OMGNOTICEMEPLZSENPAIIMSOKAWAII"...they're idiots too.

Nobody knew what the hell they were talking about. I had an argument with a guy who was trying to say all the pre-PS2 Final Fantasy games were originally released on the PlayStation. When I told him that 1-3 was originally released on the Famicom and 4-6 was originally released on the Super Famicom, he said, "I think u men Super nintendo I kno I'm huge fan."

So me, not knowing what "lost cause" means until it's too late, not only explained to him what a port was but gave him a list of dates the Super Famicom, Final Fantasy 4-6, and the PlayStation released in Japan. His reaction was that these were things called "prereleases" and were to test them (so he's telling me they were Beta tests pretty much) on another console then finally actually release them onto the intended PlayStation. I reminded him that all but 6 was released before the PlayStation was even a thought and his retort was that I was lying.
I threw my phone.
