Eh... I don't know. New game is great. Free seems mighty suspicious, especially for a series like Unreal.

Also, there's a Killing Floor 2.

This seems to have escalated because of a bug in the Japanese version of Tomodachi Life that allowed two male Mii's to wed and have children but not female Mii's. (That was a whole other situation)

Because Nintendo fixed the bug, it makes Nintendo seem like they are against gay marriage.
But that is simply not the case. They were trying to fix a bug.

Honestly the whole situation is an overreaction
If there was a game with only same sex marriage it would not have created as big of an uproar.
It's not a matter of equality if they only want their side to be considered (and I am not just talking about the above statement). They are failing to consider Nintendo position in this issue. Nintendo just wants to make something entertaining and to not step on any toes. The glitch however put them in an awkward situation and people aren't going to let Nintendo slide on this one.

I'm leaning towards agreeing with the opinion that they should have put gay marriage in. However, like you said, that would go and piss off the homophobes, and would indeed make them more involved in the debate. Having same sex marriage in the game would imply that they support it in real life, whereas not having it doesn't necessarily imply that they're against it. I can't blame them for not wanting to get involved right now, and people are giving them way too much crap.

Businesses are after money, not civil rights. In the end, that's all it comes down to. 'Less Ninty has taken open stances on past societal issues, there's no reasonable expectation for them to prioritize social commentary over profits. Which is a cryin' shame.
