Insomniacs assemble!!

Still don't understand what's so "dark" about it. Games have gotten easier, I guess. Can't say much about that since I haven't noticed it all that much myself.

I tend to enjoy newer games more, but a lot of that could be attributed to the "new game feel" that I enjoy.

A shining beacon in the dark age of gaming. Surely you can grasp this concept, Mr.
Sadly I don't think the Golden Age of Gaming can be revived. Games like that aren't appealing to the average consumer anymore. Once in a while you can find a game that draws from the old years adding their unique touch like Super Meat Boy, Fez, and Braid, but they will almost always be Indies because the corporations will never go backwards. And when they do they lost the spirit of the original.

If the new generation wants the classics they will go there. Currently I am getting my brother to play the classics like Super Mario Bros. SMB3, SMW, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, among others. The community is bringing back the legacy of the golden age and not the creators themselves. Speed Runners and Streamers are popularizing the old games to the new generation. As games progress further and further away from the Golden Age the community will be there to bring us back once in a while.

So, anyone else interested in that new Zelda?

I have absolutely ****-all interest!

... But that's only 'cause I've yet to finish any pre-OoT Zelda games, 'sides the original. Unless the Oracle games count. Though I've no doubt I'll take interest in it eventually, as Zelda is Zelda.

Still don't understand what's so "dark" about it.

CoD.

Jokes aside (srs bout cod tho), this ain't no dark age. Just a bunch'a nostalgiafags 'n hipsters who can't see the brilliance of new-age classics. The only thing terribad 'bout recent generations is how the casual market has exploded, and their stupid demands may or may not of leaked into certain games that would've been perfect otherwise... but as of late, their n00bishness has been relegated to smartphone gaming 'n **** like that anyways. A shame Sakurai doesn't know that.

... Not that it isn't a dark age for certain companies, per se.

I think I missed some kind of conversation

By bringing old style games into the noob friendly modern age?

I'm back to post relatively unwitty and uninteresting posts again...every now and again at least lest I don't get caught up in college work.

So how's everyone been doing?
