Faulty Wii? Hardware issues?

I bought a wii from amazon, im from venezuela and went i test it unable to read disk, wii sport and zelda cant be readed, how can i do in that case?

That might be a hardware issue that you would need to get a replacement. Sorry to say but if it's not reading any discs then there might be something wrong with the DVD-ROM or possibly the main board from what I've seen.

Very true but this cam make it unstable and it can tip over eventually.
Yeah, unless you had it under the clear stabilizer as well, but that would ruin the overall appearance

That is the dumbest question i have ever heard, of course it matters!!!!! I have mine horizontal now, and i like the way it looks....

I am having the same problem, started about 4 weeks after owning system. i notice they don't appear on the Internet Channel but there are alot more on legend of zelda. i have tried formatting the system memory, didn't expect much of a result, but tried anyway. might have made it worse. Emailed nintendo as well, but not really expexting an answer for a while. I think the graphic processor is defective. Here are links to a few pics of the artifacts.

I am also experiencing this little video problem :( They appeared christmas day, I tryed another set of cabels but it didn't work they were still there. they are little lines on the menu that flicker in and out, they also appear in need for speed carbon alot, but in carbon they appear as white dots all over the screen, usually when there is fog or smoke. I have also seen them in mario bros on the virtual console as white dots at the screen between levels. i haven't tryed many of my NGC games but the seem to appear in sonic adventure battle 2 :( this really sucks I'm definatly going to have to contact nintendo support.
PS. they are definatly not burnt out pixels as the appear on my friends tv in the same spots.

yeah, in legend of zelda they are the worst on screens with fog or rain. i will get my new wii tomorow. do call nintendo

Like i said, dont bother emailing you dont get a reply (well i havent) and phoning is no good unless you have a whole day to waste trying to get through to them...

just send your wii back to them

If you too have a broken Wii, Simply send it back to nintendo at the following address, and remember to include a note detailing problem, your address and your invoice for purchase from where ever you got yours.

Hello there, well I do too have a problem with my Wii, basically most of the time I put a wii game in it makes some weird clunky sound and wont read the game properly, plus error screens have been occuring many times aswell ;/

I have tried emailing Nintendo UK and they havent replied, sent em 2 emails now, nout :(

Tried calling Ninendo UK too, they expect me to w8 like 40mins ;/

You think I should just send em my Wii with Proof of Purchase and description of problem?

NO! Call and wait. If they say that there is a problem with your Wii they will send you a prepaid shipping box for your Wii and you will get another one back in the mail.

So wait the 40 minutes and watch a movie till someone answers really it's the best way.

so i call em then, kk roger.

So they will send us a prepaid shipping box for my wii and then when they get my faulty wii, they will send us a new one?

Not sure if it will be new, it might be a refurb. Most companies tend to do that... but I haven't sent mine in before.

Good question as a matter of fact if you have sent a Wii in is the one that you get a Refurb?

I got my second wii like an hour ago. If you call about 6:30 you get to talk to some one instantly, at least i did. From the looks of my new wii, it doesn't appear to be a refurb, but for all i know it could have been.

I'll look more into this when I get home as I have limited access to the internet at work.

Slow internet or proxies?

Proxies with a nice pop up that says "DON'T DO IT AGAIN"

Ouch, if you haven't tried it already, i would try proxy sites. My second wii is now up and it is definitely really hot to the touch during standby. I wish Nintendo would put the fans to run on standby mode. It's not like you would hear them, they are so quiet when it's on and the disk isn't spinning.
