Thats what i thought, that would obviously apply to matches after the first round, but if someone dropped out or didnt play in the first round it could be fair to add a replacement?

You select which ever mii you want to play as online
In the tournament you'll go off your forum name
But when you play your opponant you'll have added each others friend code anyways so you know you'll be playing them
