OK, someone said they heard a 'Final Fantasy' sound, I thought it was a bit weird.

Where do I check my updates? I didn't click anything and I have a clock and news channel and stuff, by the way what's the WiiWare thing?

Go to your Wii settings. On one of the pages of settings is an option for system updates.

WiiWare is just downloadable stuff that's not Virtual Console games. For now, that's just the Opera browse, the Everybody Votes channel, and the Metroid Preview Channel. You get to them from the Shopping Channel, choose Wii Ware instead of Virtual Channel.
