Wii in Australia thread

I have a Motorola6026 wireless router. Never had any problems with it. I don't know how good it is compared to other's though, sorry.

I'm playing Halo 3 for the first time tomorrow at a friend's house. It's going to be great. I can't wait - I'm actually excited. We're doing Heroic co-op campaign mode.

I overheard a shop assistant advertising Wii as a console for under-10 year olds. I wanted to punch him in the face. He also said that they were out of stock for Wiis, because they were the "it thing" for Christmas. Second Christmas running woo!

You know, its sometimes amazing the people they get to work in electronic sections - they don't know anything. Like, why would they work there if they don't even seemingly have an interest in it? You may say, it's just a job, but surely they could learn something?!

Anyway, a quick note on laptops. I wouldn't get an Acer - I've had some bad experiences with them. Not personally to be honest, but people at my Mums work have. They bought several of the 'good' Acer laptops, and they've only had trouble with them. I know one of them is playing up and being crappy after only a year. I've had my laptop for nearly two years now - and its a relatively cheap Toshiba, yet I haven't had any REAL problems with it. Not like the ones experienced with that Acer.

Like, sure my Toshiba isn't fast enough for my liking, and I think I really should AT LEAST buy a new battery, but no real problems. Well, actually, it did have this major objection to Microsoft Word - but I think that was the progam and not the computer. But the point is the Laptop and Word had a massive fight and the Laptop responded by deleting spellcheck. Or maybe Word imploded. Who knows. But they fought and that's what happened. Oh well, I think everyone here knows that Word's spellcheck fails anyway.

The Computer guy I occasionally talk to - or have other people talk too - tells me Acers and another brand that escapes me (yes, I really listened to the computer nerd) were not recommended by him. I wish I could remember the other comptuer he warned me against... I think I should check with him again. But I'm cetain Acers were in the bad catergory. Toshiba was in the good category, or it could have been in the middle... Hmm... I should talk to him again and take notes or something. Nyeeh, it's probably about buying a decent laptop, rather then one of the cheap ones... Oh, he also told me to stay away from brands I've 'never heard off'. I decided not to explain that when I originally started seriously looking at laptops a few years ago I didn't know brands.

Anyway, I too have a router. No idea what type it is. Its all the way downstairs and I cannot be bothered to go and check. Its decent and does its job. What I really need is faster internet. In fact, Kevin really really needs to forget Climate Change and do broadband. Yes, because thats priorities for you.

Pure genius. I laughed.

I should get a job at GameTraders - I think I'd have a fair chance at getting the job too. I know a bit about gaming and I've had work experience. Hmm... I'll ponder that one...

Don't go Acer. My friend had an Acer, and it was seriously the worst computer he's ever had. He only had it about a year and it was riddled with viruses and was just plain bad to use (viruses or no viruses).

He has a Vaio now, and says it's good, but I really don't know much about laptops.

Halo 3 is meh, campaign mode sucks. Its only good for the multiplayer matches of over 10 people. Those school competitions in the last week were epic win. Im still waiting for the Halo 2 crack that can run on windows xp.

I wish I could get a job at a gaming store, unfortunately there are none close enough for me. Like, sure there are stores about 20 mins away. But I don't want to drive for 20 mins to get to work! And plus, there's also the fact that I can't drive. I really need to start learning. Otherwise how am I going to get to Uni?

Anyway, back to Laptops - I'm considering asking my Nan for help in buying one, and getting one of the really good ones. Yes, even if I know I can get a desktop computer for much less. But like I said, I need it to be a laptop. For starters I have Uni, and simply I just prefer it over desktops. I know a few people that get Laptops but then want to use a normal keyboard. I can no longer use the normal keyboard! I love the laptop keyboards. In fact, its great to be able to so easily move a laptop around and all that. I'm sure everyone here understands that about the laptops. Anyway, my Nan might not want to help me - considering she IS paying for my Uni course... And speaking of which, HSC comes out tomorrow...

I still have to wait until the 27th for my TEE results, 95+ come on! I'm also probably going to get a laptop for Uni, though I have not really been thinking to much about it.

I'm on 95 stars in Galaxy, I'm not going to fight Bowser until 119 though.

How many stars per a galaxy? Some say 3, but if you collect all 3 stars for that galaxy, it doesn't feel completed. There's no big star icon that usually comes up on other completed galaxies on the map.

Some are, some aren't. They normally require a little more explanation of the Galaxy at hand, which is a good thing. It breaks up the lineality (did I just make up a word?).

16 stars FTW!

Also, does anyone know a good quality aussie pc store? Online or one that has a buisness that will ship aussie wide?

Most of the time I find that the secret stars are found near twinkling things, like one of the rocks in the Haunted Mansion galaxy that has a hidden star launching thing....maybe spoiler tags..Nah I'll call that good general advice.

Anyhoo this arfternoon/afternoon :)lol: mind has died) I decided to find a game for my handheld (of course you know what I mean by that *cough* R4 *cough*) so I decided on an old favourite Harvest Moon :D. Now it isn't called harvest moon (Rune Factory: A fantasy Harvest Moon) it’s still the same game, however it could've probably done without the whole fighting monsters thing. It just over complicates an already pretty complex game.

Anyhoo2 got my report back and well I'm know I'm quite the intellectual (that doesn't know how to spell arfternoon/afternoon )but wow I was shocked, I went way awesome ( what did I just say ? 'Way awesome'? Wow )

Anyhoo3 I perfected 'Schools Out' today on GH:III on medium, yes it doesn't sound like much but its kinda surprising it took me so long...considering I can play the first half with my back to the screen....yeah people do think I play it a little too much but meh I have fun.

Decent sized post well done me
