Wii in Australia thread

Im not voting Rudd, There is nothing wrong with the country how it is. More people have jobs, The economy is booming. Housing is expensive but will be alot more expensive after labour bump up the intrest rates. The only reason people are voting for Rudd is because they see these fake adds on tv about work choices. It was in todays paper that all the people in those adds are paid actors that work in TV advertisments for a living. I realise its a personal thing but i always say "If it isnt broken then why try and fix it ?"

Firstly the reason for the good economy was the mining boom. John Howard was not responsible for the mining boom.

Interest rates... are rising already with John Howard as PM.

Yeah... I knew they were actors. They still give an accurate representation of the working class. That's like saying "oh my god! it was revealed that the people in 300 weren't ACTUALLY spartans!".

"If it isn't broken then why try and fix it." Wow. What a primitive view this is. I actually just did an oral on why this view is wrong. Out of interest, are you in favour of the Australian Republican movement?

I do respect your opinion but:

There is no evidence that the ALP will bump up interest rates, in terms of financial policy Rudd and Howard are very similar. IMO John Howard is stagnent and does nothing about important issues such as climate change. We haven't even ratified the Kyoto Protocol yet, and the carbon reductions involved in ratifying that agreement are pretty slim. He plans to invest in nuclear power which is absurd. Clearly funding in the renewable energy sector is far more worth while. I could rip apart Johnny's education and health policies but I'll save it for another time. :)

They weren't? Omg! Does this mean Xerxes wasn't actually a 10 foot giant either? Oh no! King Leonidas was just some Scottish actor called Gerard?! I refuse to believe it. He's King Leonidas. They took the Time Machine from Stargate and went back in time to film the battle.

And speaking of ads, the latest 'Don't Risk Rudd and the Greens' ad is funny. Basically, the Nationals are saying 'IF YOU ELECT RUDD HE WILL KILL OUR CHILDREN!'

... Okay, so I added a new spin on it. But, they went on about needles and stuff, and at the end had a primary school girl picking up a needle. Heck, why didn't they have just her injecting herself too?

I put a new spin on all adds. Rudd's ad about the differences between him and Howard - I view it as Rudd saying he wants to kill Howard. I claim my confirmation comes from him saying he hates Howard on Rove. HE DID! He MAY have SAID he doesn't hate anyone, but we ALL know that's what he meant.

As for Workchoices - the people who actually like them are usually employeers, who enjoy having the power for once. Employees however, don't like it, and even if they can't do their job at all, still complain when the employeer fires them. Not that I'm defending WorkChoices, but I can see SOME aspects of them from the perspective of the employeer. (Note I would vote Rudd if I didn't miss out by about a week and a half).

Oh, and I despise Costello. He is just... gah. He tries to be funny and he isn't. Oh, and I'll never get over that terrifying smile he was wearing during the GREAT debate between Howard and Rudd. Did anyone see that? I think him and Alexander Downer were putting their hands down each other's pockets.

Yes, this is very friendly. I've seen 'political' debates between people who call each other morons and retarded, among other things, when they don't actually know anything about the subject to begin with. This is a very nice one in contrast - without the name calling, or any sarcastic comments. Well, except for the Spartan one, but that was funny... To me. And not really the same kind of sarcasm that gets into the heated debates of name calling.

...Wow, I should really just go to bed or something. I'm not making sense.

lol, well going off-topic because politics scare me... exams finished tomorrow! today is strike day, and i got up early considering it was, RAINING! and it woke me up, but that doesnt worry me because it's RAINING! pretty heavily too, water is running along the sides of the roads, the plants and grass are getting watered... ahhh it's a good day.

Politics are a touchy topic as eveyone has different views and thats perfectly fine. Aslong as it doesnt turn into a **** fight then its all good. I was team leader of the NSW state debating team for 06. We won the nationals and the topic was politics. So i have met and spoken to Both Howard and Rudd in person a few times. So im not saying my opinion is right but i have good reasoning behind my opinion.

Ekiushi: Haha, mine too.

Cannon: I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong, in fact it's wrong to make judgement on any opinion. I just disagree with your opinion. We have different opinions when it comes to politics - it doesn't make me think any different of you as a person... hell, my best friend is a die-hard liberal.

I've worked out what I want for Christmas - N64 games. Lots of them. I really want to get in touch with that gaming era again. It's going to be great.
