I prefer Toon to Link because of he seems to be quicker. I don't really like either though.

Ok.. Toon Link is tons better than Link. A few things I noticed are eskewed opinions. Suprise, Toon Link is actually a medium weight character! I was baffled when I heard it too, but it's true. He's not as heavy as Link, but he might be around as heavy, or even a little heavier, than Mario. Probably from all that equipment.
Toon is indeed faster, both with his attacks and running speed. Being floatier he always travels through the air better. Toon's aerials also have more power, comboability(especially B-air), and make much better approaches. They're much better KO moves and are faster than Link's when comparing their power.
Toon's D-smash is much faster, and the combo thing can go to your advantage. If the enemy is next to you in an akward position, you can actually slide them way off the stage, so they're in a unfavorable position to be gimped by a quick N-air and such.
His U-smash is obviously more powerful, and quicker. His F-smash also combo hits - when done right, it always hits twice. Stall for just a few frames and you won't hit it though. It's got great KO power, almost as much as Link's own. The benefit though, is that no matter what the enemy's damage %, you always get two hits and 20%+ damage if you hit with atleast average aim.
Don't forget Toon has his D-air spike. Toon's projectiles are also more useful for rapid fire and are not only more accurate, but more useful. The boomerang is incredibly versatile. You can throw it into the ground for an angle shot, arch it into the air, or just send it straight. Pair with arrows and you've got an imprenetrable guard.
His bombs deal good damage, and can be dropped from above with an air dodge, making them suprise attacks. The bombs are also thrown very fast, and effectively an infinite projectile. His bombs, while they don't travel as fast, have a much larger range too, making them better camping and combo material.
Toon also poses less risk when using the clawshot as a tether, since his recovery is top notch and by the small chance he misses, he should get back up. His recovery also does more damage on both the ground and air, and has more power in the air(much more, really)than Link's own. Basically, if Link misses his tether, he dies. :lol: Link is also very gimpable. Toon isn't. He travels very far through the air due to being floaty, his jumps are large, both midair and from the ground, and his Up B is superb.
Toon also has very few counters since he utilizes his speed, range, and even power and medium weight to his advantage. Most people say he doesn't have many advantage match ups either, but I beg to differ. Toon for high tier! DX

Weight certainly does matter yyy, it can determine just barely a KO or not. It can save your last stock just barely, and let you make a comeback win. No character depends on weight, but it always helps. Every little feature adds up to help a character get better, including weight(..if they're heavy, anyways).

You don't seem to get my point. In a pro match, any excellent player can be down 2 stocks and suddenly come back and win it all through combos and prediction, finishing off the enemy without further taking a scratch - a scratch most likely going to KO for the win. Even if the players are equal, or even if the player at a disadvantage is slightly worse, this can happen. I see it all the time.
The truth is, if you ARE good enough, a life matters a lot. A good player can keep themselves from dieing at 140% plus as long as they avoid power moves and use DI if you're keeping yourself alive long enough, you can come back and combo them up to what, 60%, then you die. You already have a 60% lead. This is what I meant by every little thing matters and adds up. If you're not good enough, a life never matters if you're in the lead.

if they do that then just go on the defense and get items and win without getting beat and if u do that without items than u just won a easy game and i get your point that every thing does matter and if u dont take that into account than your beat and your wont win eaither way

Lol, items are never on in competitive play, yyy. Noone can ever play defensive with items unless they can pull items like Peach or Link, or unless they have multiple/spammable projectiles. A defensive game is either stall and spacing or projectiles and predicting, not waiting for items to show up. Items = cheap and based on pure luck.
i see that and yes items r cheap but if have a link d3 and peach u have a great chance of defense and dk has a great defense and offense but if u dont know how to use it in the situation u just said then u lose all the time and if u do then be either in the situation but really no smash balls that bs and if there r no smash balls then y compete

Smash balls are cheap. Many characters can win simply because they get their FS, and smash balls are also easily obtained by certainly characters, i.e. Ike with his raw power and range or Wolf for his powerful aerials. The game should never have smash balls, they're the cheapest and most luck-reliant item of all.

well smahs ball r luck i think they should go to the person who put the most damage on them and yes im not a pro not yet but im more than half way there more like 9/10ths im not the best at prediction unless its a computer and even that is not hard and yes thats a one hit KO fro most characters and so i should start playing with no items now k i will try if thats competitive im tryin to join a tournament adn after prediction im there
