If I'm not mistaken, before Reggie mentioned the surprise, they were talking about the Wii Zapper and if they could expect Duck Hunt to come packaged with it. I'm pretty sure (can someone verify?) that it was soon after that that Reggie told the reporter about the surprise.

You no, i think ur right. This might be the mst reasonable explanation

I was thinking, maybe there will be a ds demo channel, download the demos from the wii onto ds, like the demo station they have in nintendo power in times square..they are nintendos biggest success, why not add to it

Just went to gamefaqs forums and other sites and there all saying that the "Check Mii Out" channel will be out tomorrow and such... dunno if its true or not but we will find out tomorrow to see our wii console glows blue!
