It helps that Ex Machina's plot is a little less cliché (but it is still cliché), and the characters don't look like horrible cel-shaded monstrosities.

One thing I really hate about these long animes is when they cut things off just when there getting interesting.
I know i could read the manga of it but I prefer the anime.
