The Canadian Wii Finder *Revived w/ a new title*

Just went to my local future shop and they had a shipment of 18 this afternoon. there were selling the last few when i got there (around 2.45p) and the drop shipment came in just before 2p

Well Nunchucks are easily available. I must have seen 30+ of them on my journey today to find a wii. I am still wii-less but won't give up hope.

I saw nunchucks at, The Superstore, HMV, Rogers Video and Blockbuster. I have yet to see a Wii though.

Bump - Real Canadian Superstore isn't getting them until after Christmas. Toys R Us still doesn't know. Futureshop doesn't know, and Best Buy's operators piss me off.

After Christmas is a horribal answer. All that implies is that they will not have any today or tommorrow. After Christmas is anywhere from Dec 26th xx to Dec 24th xx+1 in my books.

He could've always said nothing, so don't be so unappreciative.

And not until after Christmas is actually a really good answer. The month that I spent searching for my Wii, most of the time, the employees/managers would say "we don't know" or "no idea." So at least you now know they won't have them for a specific time...even if it is only 2 days.

Probably. Best to call your local stores and just ask. Odds are they won't be getting shipments of them today and probably not tomorrow, so the absolute earliest they'd get them is boxing day and good luck getting anything, let alone a Wii, on boxing day.

Got an email from Futureshop.ca last night and my console is on it's way to my place. ETA is Dec 27th :)

I was at EBgames at Markville Mall (Markham), and they had multiple Nunchuks and Classic controllers in, but no wiimotes nor Wiis

I didnt feel like buying a nunchuk without a wiimote...by the time I get extra wiimotes, they'll probably have nunchuks, too

Thats poor customer service from employees/managers that say We don't know or No idea.

Where I work (Retail store) when a costumer asks about availability I check and give them a more striaght forward answer. Even when we don't know we explain why we don't know for example. Our inventory system says the estimated time of delivery is Jan 17th 2007, however the item is on standing order meaning we have to wait for our distributor to recieve the item and it is shipped to stores based on popularity and units on order. It is best to call back the week of to update you on the status of your item. Although I don't give a definative answer the customer has recieved service rather than being brushed off. Though the one draw back to this is if we recieve the item early which is rare but does happen. - Though most other personel other then my self and the people I have trained would most likely take the escape goat route especially at this time of year.

Don't get me wrong I understand the demand and your absolutely right that I should be appreciative about the 2 days I have saved myself from recieving that answer and I am. However working in retail an employee should know how to look up units on order, estimated time of delivery, units on hand. They choose not to take the time and say item is out of stock (this one is not as bothersome cause I know for the most part that it is true)

Employees just assume an item is out of stock but while we are talking the item may have just been recieved or a customer may have returned one and this is entered into the stock count so it is best to ask.

Units on order is good to know because I always go under the assumption that for every 1 of me there is atlest 20 others who want one at the same store.

Estimated time of arrival key word is estimate but I would personally rather hear something more delibarate such as week of, mid-month etc. Items like these would be in the inventory systems as standing order and those ETA are often updated daily even though the ETA often changes for the worse but I would like to know the ETA for the day I asked and not after christmas.

Further I would like to add for items like this, Its best to ask the highest postion available at the store and not a regular employee.

Some may also take after Christmas as Dec 26th and be camping out Chrismas night only to hear the item did not come in stock.

I hope this doesn't start an arguement as that is not my intention. Thanks for your reply it did make me appreciate the 2 days time I saved but Starting After christmas the chase continues. I will eventually get a Wii at retail price or better and that day I will be happy and I also have to admit part of the fun is the anticapation.
