Look, Nintendo has really been slacking in the gaming industry as it is. Shoko is right, this is a huge title and Nintendo knows it. It's right to think that they'll go online with the game because it would get extreme ratings on the game and for the Wii. Microsoft and Sony have already proven themselves in the online gaming world. If Nintendo makes the decision to keep this game offline I along with millions of other fans will be extremely disappointed with the game and the company. People need to quit being such pessimists. Let us enjoy the possibility of online SSBB.

shoko, 3 bits of your evidence come from ign (from a long time ago) check what they have been saying more recently, and you'll see that their new brawl FAQ specifically states that online has NOT been confirmed, though it would be a great feature. Now i know you have compiled quotes from months ago, and i want online as much as the next man, but what if they simply can't do it? I mean even at e3 when talking about online games they didn't mention smash brothers, if they knew that online is 100% sure they would have officially confirmed it by now. (hoping im wrong)

I agree that yeah it will more than likely be online but just for the sake of discussion, what if the wii can't handle it?

I know right now your sitting here reading this and thinking blasphemy. But it's possible with all the crazy fighting explosions and flashing lights that if they did have online it would lag badly, this would be one of those hurdles they have to jump. idk i am just throwing that in there

^The 'crazy explosions and flashing lights' part gave me a laugh. Lag is ussually due to distance, not the game.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii has not been officially confirmed by Nintendo to support online gameplay. The producers have announced to the public that they intend to add the feature and have also hinted at its existed on multiple occasions.
