Agree on the new items... most of em look crap. I just want two Sonic Stages...a moving one of say Green Hill Zone, that constantly moves right like the classic mario one. And an unlockable Pinball Stage, where you constantly fall having pinball obstacles in the way.... then when you get to the bottom, flippers hit you all back up again, to begin the freefall.... itd be intense.

Not sure about that. It would take out/distort several factors (moving, jumping, fighting in general). It wouldn't be very "Smash Bros.-like".

I like the items.

And to be quite honest, when it comes to items, quantity is more important than quality to me. Items provide variability, and whats the point of having a variable if you get accustomed to it so quickly?

I love the items. Items keep variety in the game, like Leve said. They also tend to make you laugh more during the matches since something random happens with them all the time....

Youd still have control over moving..itds be more gliding, and you could still do up B moves itd just be less effective...I'm not thinking super fast scrolling here, and the bumpers etc would have a lesser effect than in RL. I cant think of any other Sonic Stage that would bring a unique style with it, theyre all damn similar.

I think I'll start a thread but I don't want to make it a thread that's already there. Has anyone made a thread on keeping or ridding items in brawl? that thread would be cool. Personally I'd keep em with the smash ball in there you NEED items.

Agreed about quantity vs. quality (for items). I remember one time when I was playing a someone about the same level as me, when suddenly a box came down with a motion-sensor, screwball, and a laser sword. 1st, I laid the motion-sensor down, and as he was approaching, through the laser sword so he would be knocked back, then used the screwball to make him helplessly fly in the air. As he was coming back down, I grabbed him and through him into the bomb.

The items don't necessarily have to be great, they just need to have a good variety.

Just played melee again... I have the game but since the wii I haven't really touched it.... wow, what a game... and brawl is (or should be) 20 times better! :D

I hope theres some more WTF items though, thatl be a blast to play against a friend, then theres this item you have no clue what it does, and then when u use it, it kills you or something. Oh and i also really like the lightning item.

You don't NEED items in Smash, they are just there for fun. By no means a necessity though. Hence why there is an option to turn them off occasionally.

Technically, you don't need any moveset except for 'A' (thus "One-button" mode), but they still have those too. :p

Isn't the game there for fun though? So making the game with items, hence make it more fun, isn't neccesesary? I think it is necesesary to have more fun, but thats just me.
