Ridley in Brawl.

I'm sensing a bad case of denial. I could have added Ridley's recent appearance in Corruption could easily be his boss form, as well as the preview of him in the trailer of SSBM gives him a better chance as either a playable character or a boss. Then there's the need for Metroid representatives, Ridley Music, Stage, + (as minor evidence) the fact that he was seen in the "clouds" picture from a while back.

Blind faith? No. Pointing out the obvious even if it may or may not be true? Yes.

Denial? Can you read? I said Ridley does have chances, but music and a stage are not forms of confirmation. You hear the name Ridley and automatically assume that it means he is in. The music is from the Metroid series. It is Ridley's song. It has historical reference. It is not proof that Ridley is in Brawl. Not every song has a respective rep. Melee featured a Balloon Fighter song, but there was no Balloon Fighter. How you can assume that Ridley is in?

There is no balloon fighter yet. There was also the balloon fighter fish on one of the stages, so its actually a possibility balloon fighter will be in.

Balloon fighter was in a beta-build of Melee. They took him out because of physic problems.

Balloon Fighter and Excitebike were supposed to be playable, but the move sets would be very odd. All Balloon fighter would do is float around. And Excitebite would always have to be on his/her bike. So how would he jump (without looking ridiculous).

Then again, at the end of classic mode (or adventure mode, I can't remember) if you did a certain thing, after defeating Bowser, he came back as Giga Bowser. Might be the same with Ridley.

This is where I stand. I really wouldnt mind Ridley as a PC, but dont completely think SSB is ready for it. No doubt he would make a decent heavyweight-class fighter. So 65% of me says yes, but that other 35% is still a bit.

Did he also have a stage dedicated to him and 2 appearances in the previous installment before him, one of which happened to be a shrunk down size of him to show that he could be playable? Not that I know of.

@ Tails: Only reason I'm in a rush for him is because of all these rumor that Sakurai isn't going to making Smash anymore. I want him done right in this game.

I would like this thread if there were some decent arguments coming from the supporters, but theres nothing to base your accusations off of. Its not your fault, there is just nothing to speculate. Its something along the lines of

"I think Ridley will be in Brawl"
"I don't"

And that should be it.

1. Last time I checked, Samus was in Metroid as well. And last time I checked, there was Ridley battle music in Metroid. Thus, it is more likely that this is referring to Metroid's music rather than Brawl's, making this argument horrible.
2. Thats a video, this is a playable character.
3. If you're referring to his trophy then I'm going to shoot you.

Seriously guys, there is no decent debate to be discussed before we get more information. Feel free to bring the thread back when we are given something to speculate about.

@ssbb_lover-Not a rumor, he's leaving after this one. That just means that Sakurai wont be apart of future SSBs. We'll miss him, but we'll move on.

Ridley fans act like they know he is in the game when they have no basis for such statements. The DOJO mentions Ridley's name, and ZOMG he is confirmed. The DOJO mentions Ridley boss music even though Ridley is a boss in Metroid and has his own theme, but "no, it has to be referring to Brawl only!" Everyone thought that the Franklin Badge "confirmed" Ness; too bad Ness is out of the game. People just make up logic on the spot to support their favorite characters. It's like me wanting Boomerang Bro to be a playable character and using the Hammer Bro assist trophy as "evidence".

Okay i do agree with this, ridley fans are decently close-minded when it comes to ridley, they think they can just dismiss the fact that he's the size of all the characters combined just because they can shrink him....
